In the end this is a losing battle for Pelosi and the Dems. POTUS is must watch TV. POTUS got something to say to the people, people want to see. A SOTU is something normal, and something usually boring.
A SOTU given by POTUS outside of the House, due to Dem's spite and sour grapes, with the drama of him demanding the major national news networks for airtime (it's a SOTU, how can they refuse, and plus it's coming at you straight from the Oval Office), in defiance to custom and Dem desires will only make this SOTU buzz and even more must watch TV.
