‘THE SMOKING GUN’: Google Manipulated YouTube Search Results for Abortion, Maxine Waters, David Hogg

In sworn testimony, Google CEO Sundar Pichai told Congress last month that his company does not “manually intervene” on any particular search result. Yet an internal discussion thread leaked to Breitbart News reveals Google regularly intervenes in search results on its YouTube video platform – including a recent intervention that pushed pro-life videos out of the top ten search results for “abortion.”

The term “abortion” was added to a “blacklist” file for “controversial YouTube queries,” which contains a list of search terms that the company considers sensitive. According to the leak, these include some of these search terms related to: abortion, abortions, the Irish abortion referendum, Democratic Congresswoman Maxine Waters, and anti-gun activist David Hogg.

The existence of the blacklist was revealed in an internal Google discussion thread leaked to Breitbart News by a source inside the company who wishes to remain anonymous. A partial list of blacklisted terms was also leaked to Breitbart by another Google source.

In the leaked discussion thread, a Google site reliability engineer hinted at the existence of more search blacklists, according to the source.

“We have tons of white- and blacklists that humans manually curate,” said the employee. “Hopefully this isn’t surprising or particularly controversial.”

Others were more concerned about the presence of the blacklist. According to the source, the software engineer who started the discussion called the manipulation of search results related to abortion a “smoking gun.”

The software engineer noted that the change had occurred following an inquiry from a left-wing Slate journalist about the prominence of pro-life videos on YouTube, and that pro-life videos were replaced with pro-abortion videos in the top ten results for the search terms following Google’s manual intervention.

“The Slate writer said she had complained last Friday and then saw different search results before YouTube responded to her on Monday,” wrote the employee. “And lo and behold, the [changelog] was submitted on Friday, December 14 at 3:17 PM.”

The manually downranked items included several videos from Dr. Antony Levatino, a former abortion doctor who is now a pro-life activist. Another video in the top ten featured a woman’s personal story of being pressured to have an abortion, while another featured pro-life conservative Ben Shapiro. The Slate journalist who complained to Google reported that these videos previously featured in the top ten, describing them in her story as “dangerous misinformation.”

Since the Slate journalist’s inquiry and Google’s subsequent intervention, the top search results now feature pro-abortion content from left-wing sources like BuzzFeed, Vice, CNN, and Last Week Tonight With John Oliver. In her report, the Slate journalist acknowledged that the search results changed shortly after she contacted Google.

New cases of child rape revealed in Finland – President says asylum seekers brought evil with them

A number of cases of rape and abuse of children, with foreign perpetrators, have been revealed in Oulu in the northern parts of Finland since last autumn, Fria Tider reports.

The police are investigating another four cases with girls under the age of 15, where three perpetrators of foreign background have been arrested suspected of rape and serious sexual abuse of children.

In all cases, the suspects have background as refugees or asylum seekers.

And now the police in Helsinki have arrested several migrants suspected of serious rape and serious sexual abuse of children. The crimes have been committed in the last two months.

No direct link with the cases in Oulu is currently known.

Finland’s Prime Minister Juha Sipilä wrote on Twitter: “As a result of the inhuman and reprehensible events in Oulu and Helsinki, the Government will meet next week in negotiations both on Tuesday and Friday.”

“It is unbearable that people who have asked for and even received asylum from us have brought such evil and caused unsafety here“, the country’s President Sauli Niinistö said in a statement.

Helsinki police point out the importance of parents informing their children to be cautious on social media, where the foreign rapists find their victims.

McDonald’s, Taco Bell and Wendy’s spent over a BILLION on TV ads to target black and Hispanic kids after promising to fight soaring rates of obesity among minority children

Fast food chains - including McDonald's and Taco Bell - and candy companies are spending far more money to advertise unhealthy food to black and Hispanic children than they are on marketing geared toward white youth, a new report reveals.

On TV networks with mostly black audiences - like BET and OWN - 86 percent of the total 2017 advertising spending for food companies was marketed junk food, sugary drinks and unhealthy snacks.

And ads for these junk foods made up 82 percent of total spending on food commercials that aired on Spanish-language TV channels.

What's more, young people were seeing those advertisements more than any other age group, said the report from the Rudd Center for Food Policy and Obesity at the University of Connecticut.

The authors say these targeted ads are helping drive up the obesity rate among minority children, which is currently three times higher than the rate of obesity among white children.

This study comes after many of these same companies promised they would be rolling out and healthier food options and establishing 'corporate responsibility programs' to promote health and wellness, the University of Connecticut authors said.

Canada investigates Jewish National Fund for funding Israel’s crimes

Pressured by human rights activists and a Palestinian refugee, the Canada Revenue Agency has begun an investigation into the Jewish National Fund of Canada over its use of charitable donations to build projects for the Israeli military and illegal settlements.

Uses of charitable donations to fund foreign militaries contravenes Canadian law.

JNF Canada’s parent organization, the Jewish National Fund (JNF), predates the establishment of Israel and uses tree-planting as a cover to ethnically cleanse Palestinians from their land.

After Israel’s establishment in 1948, the JNF took control of most of the land which had been confiscated from Palestinian refugees. In the 1950s, the JNF became a quasi-state organization, with a policy to lease land only to Jews on an openly discriminatory basis.

Documents show that the JNF has repeatedly used JNF Canada as a conduit to collect funds for its illegal projects, activists say.

JNF Canada recently told public broadcaster CBC that it stopped funneling money to the Israeli military in 2016.

However, acting as a conduit for its parent organization, funds continue to flow into projects connected to the Israeli military.

And the JNF remains involved in decades-old activities of land theft and expulsion of Palestinians, actions which also violate international law.

In addition to the formal complaint, activists have initiated a petition through parliament calling for JNF Canada’s charitable status to be revoked.

It will be presented to parliament and the government will have to respond.

MACRON PROTESTS: Yellow vest fireman left in COMA after being shot in head by POLICE

Olivier Beziade suffered a “very serious brain injury” after being shot from behind by a police officer using a flash ball gun during the yellow vest demonstration in Bordeaux on Saturday. The father-of-three is currently in an induced coma in hospital, according to his family. A shocking video shows blood pouring from Mr Beziade’s head as he is treated by paramedics.

Mr Beziade’s wife Cindy told French media: “I’m furious. This is unacceptable. I won’t let it go. The pictures speak for themselves.

“The demonstration was calm until about 4.30pm. I was with my husband in Rue Sainte-Catherine.

“Then there was a bit of panic. We turned turned back to avoid teargas fumes and to go home. I turned first right, he took the first turning on the left.”

Mr Beziade was then shot by an officer with a flash ball gun, while another threw a stun grenade towards him.

Mrs Beziade added: “They shot at us like rabbits.”

Local police have ordered an investigation, claiming a group of yellow vests protesters were “trying to get into an Apple store nearby” at the time of the incident.

This weekend marked the ninth week of yellow vest protests – named after the high-visibility jackets they wear – which have rocked French President Emmanuel Macron’s premiership.

There were 32,000 demonstrators across the country on Saturday, including 8,000 in Paris, according to official estimates.

The unrest was sparked in November by fuel tax reforms but it has developed into a broader movement against Mr Macron.

The sometimes-violent protests have continued despite a series of humiliating climbdowns by Mr Macron in a desperate bid to regain control.

And the grassroots movement has even inspired copycat protests across Europe.

The French President – who was elected in May 2017 on a promise to reshape the economy – has launched a three-month national debate in an attempt to quell the riots.

Mr Macron said proposals made during the debate would help build a new “contract for the nation”.

However, a tenth weekend of protests are set to go ahead despite Mr Macron’s best efforts to get a grip on the unrest.

Now More Than Ever, It’s Clear the FBI Must Go

The New York Times reports that “[i]n the days after President Trump fired James B. Comey as FBI director, law enforcement officials became so concerned by the president’s behavior that they began investigating whether he had been working on behalf of Russia against American interests.”

That’s an interesting way of putting it, but let’s try another:

Enraged at the firing of their director, and suspecting the firing might portend a threat to their place and power in the American political establishment, FBI officials went to war with the president of the United States. They redirected taxpayer money and government resources away from anything resembling a legitimate law enforcement mission, putting themselves instead to the task of drumming up a specious case that said president is an agent of a foreign power.

This is exactly the kind of bovine scat subsumed by the recently popularized term “Deep State” – an entrenched bureaucracy, jealous of its prerogatives and bent on the destruction of anyone and anything it perceives as dangerous to those prerogatives.

I’m far from the first writer to point out that this latest news reflects nothing new. Yes, it’s over the top, but it pretty much sums up what the FBI does, and what it has done for the entirety of its 111 years of existence. It attempts to protect “America” – which it defines as the existing establishment in general and itself in particular – not from crime as such, but from inconvenient disruption.

That’s why the Bureau under J. Edgar Hoover surveilled (and attempted to blackmail) Martin Luther King, Jr. That’s why its COINTELPRO projects illegally infiltrated and attempted to disrupt domestic political groups in the Vietnam era. That’s why the FBI had the material that COINTELPRO operator Mark Felt (“Deep Throat”) leaked to journalists by way of attempting to succeed Hoover as the man who brought down Nixon.

Trump is no Martin Luther King, Jr., but he’s certainly disruptive. That, not some cockamamie theory about a Russian mole in the White House, explains the FBI’s declaration of war on his presidency.

Almost exactly a year ago – after the FBI officials got caught destroying evidence in a probe of its investigations of Trump and of Hillary Clinton – I suggested that the time has come to abolish the Bureau. This latest news confirms that judgment. The FBI guards its own power, not our freedoms. It’s just too dangerous to keep around any longer.

Ex-Minister: PM’s Cabal ‘Abused Constitution’ to Put EU Deal Together in Secret

Former junior Brexit minister Steve Baker MP has said that the Prime Minister’s cabal “abused” the British constitution to negotiate her failed “Brexit In Name Only” deal behind the Brexit Department’s back.

Mr Baker told Sky News on Wednesday that the only option to save Brexit is to push for the free trade agreement which was offered by the bloc a year ago.

The Deputy Chairman of the European Research Group (ERC) group of Tory Brexiteers led by Jacob Rees-Mogg explained that he and other ministers at the Department for Exiting the European Union (DExEU) had agreed on that approach last summer and told officials they wanted a free trade agreement-based Brexit, and that “within weeks” the EU had made a corresponding offer.

“But the reason why [then-Secretary of State for Brexit] David Davis and I had to resign is that unfortunately the officials of the Prime Minister worked around ministers in the department responsible to come up with this ridiculous half-in, half-out plan, and that is the heart of our difficulties,” he said.

On Tuesday evening, Prime Minister Theresa May’s EU Withdrawal Agreement was defeated by a historic margin of 202 in favour to 432 against — largely due to the Northern Irish backstop arrangements which not only could lock Northern Ireland into regulatory alignment with the EU but, as Mr Baker explained, establosh the basis of the whole country’s utlimate future relationship with the bloc.

Asylum Claims Up 22 Percent in Macron’s France, Down in Populist Countries

France has seen a 22 percent rise in asylum applications in 2018, while populist-led countries such as Italy and Austria have seen sharp declines in claims.

The French Interior Ministry revealed that the country had received 122,743 asylum applications in 2018, continuing the progressive rise in asylum applications which has occurred every year since 2014, Le Monde reports.

A total of 46,700 individuals were granted asylum status by the French government in 2018, up nine percent from the previous year according to the French Office for the Protection of Refugees and Stateless Persons (Ofpra).

While the largest number of asylum requests came from Afghan, Albanian, Ivory Coat, and Georgian nationals, the main nationalities to actually receive asylum were from Afghanistan, Syria, and Sudan. The total approval rate for asylum applications was 27 percent for initial claims which went up to 36 percent following the appeals process — although it should be noted that rejected claimants are not always deported, either.

Last October, Didier Leschi, the director-general of the French Office for Immigration and Integration (OFII) explained in a note published by think tank Fondapol that France had become the “most attractive” country for Afghan asylum seekers and that their number had risen by 55 percent in 2018.

In 2017, the acceptance rate for Afghans had been 83 percent, compared to neighbouring Germany where the acceptance rate was far lower at 44 percent.

Leschi also estimated that around 37 percent of asylum seekers in France had already applied for asylum in another European Union (EU) country, with previous claims often having been rejected by Germany or Sweden.

The figures are a stark contrast to those of Italy, where populist Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini’s anti-mass migration policies have led to around an 80 percent decline in illegal migrant arrivals.

Salvini and Macron have clashed on the issue of immigration over the last year. Tensions rose sharply between the pair after Salvini accused the French authorities of dumping illegal migrants over the border into northern Italy, which French police later admitted.

Press TV anchor Marzieh Hashemi jailed in US on unspecified charges

Marzieh Hashemi, a journalist and anchor working for Iran’s English-language Press TV television news network, has been detained and imprisoned in the United States for unspecified reasons.

American-born Hashemi, most famous for anchoring news programs and presenting shows for Press TV, was detained upon arrival at St. Louis Lambert International Airport in St. Louis, Missouri, on Sunday, her family and friends said.

Press TV has learned that she was transferred by the FBI to a detention facility in Washington, DC. The US officials have so far refused to provide any reasons for her apprehension either to her or her family.

The Associated Press (AP) said a call to the FBI rang unanswered early on Wednesday morning. The bureau did not immediately respond to a written request for comment, it added.

Hashemi, born Melanie Franklin, had arrived in the US to visit her ill brother and other family members.

Her relatives were unable to contact her, and she was allowed to contact her daughter only two days after her arrest.

Alleged Cartel-Connected Mexican Mayor Tried to Enter U.S. with False ID

A Mexican mayor from Sonora with previous accusations of cartel connections was reportedly apprehended by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) after an attempted crossing into Arizona with a passport not his own.

The mayor of Bácum, Rogelio Aboyte Limón, was arrested on December 27, 2018, after he attempted to enter the United States at the Nogales Port of Entry with documents that did not belong to him, according to local media reports. Aboyte Limón allegedly attempted to enter under the name “Jaime Fernando Bautista.”

Aboyte Limón was previously convicted and sentenced to 84 months in U.S. prison under a third name, Raúl López Montaño, after he was arrested in Indiana in 2010 for transporting approximately 46 pounds of cocaine concealed in his vehicle’s gas tank. Aboyte Limón is currently being held in a CBP detention center in Phoenix, according to a federal law enforcement source.

Aboyte Limón was sworn as mayor of Bácum on September 16, 2018. His last two public appearances were on December 19 when he and his wife participated in a Christmas parade; and on December 22 at a firehouse ceremony. Since then, all city council meetings were attended by his wife, Mariana Bernal de Aboyte, president of the municipal DIF (Desarrollo Integral de la Familia). Aboyte Limón’s absence was a growing mystery until the leadership of Morena Party of Sonora confirmed the December 27 arrest this week. Morena is led by the newly elected president of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO).

Bácum made headlines in September 2018 when police discovered seven heads abandoned in an ice chest–sparking fears of an escalation in the local cartel turf war. The municipality is in southern section of Sonora–just north of Ciudad Obregón–and is one of eight towns that make up the territory traditionally inhabited by the Yaqui Tribe, known as “El Valle del Yaqui.” The area provides easy access to drug trafficking routes to the U.S. markets.

Trump Admin Has Argued the Wall Would Pay for Itself — Study Shows It Would Do That and Then Some

An analysis from the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) estimated last week that President Donald Trump’s border wall would only need to stop a small percentage of illegal crossings to pay for itself over the course of the next decade.

Using figures from the National Academies of Sciences and the Institute for Defense Analyses, CIS calculated how much each illegal immigrant cost the United States over their average lifespan.

It found that Trump’s border wall would only need to stop 3 to 4 percent of future illegal entries — or 60,000 illegal immigrants — over a decade to cover the $5 billion price tag Trump announced.

Update: Honduran Caravan Leader Sentenced to 15 Years For CHILD RAPE

The organizer of the latest migrant caravan in Honduras, Juan Carlos Molina, was arrested on rape charges.

The man had an arrest warrant since August 2015.

Police in Honduras arrested 26-year-old Juan Carlos Molina, a migrant caravan organizer who was on his way to the United States to seek asylum for raping his minor cousin, according to Diario La Tribuna.

According to La Tribuna, Juan Carlos Molina raped his minor cousin, who was under the age of 12 at the time.

Molina snuck into his cousin’s bedroom at night while the young girl’s mother was away at work and raped her, according to La Tribuna.

The minor child became pregnant and gave birth to a son. A DNA test of the infant matched Molina’s DNA.

Juan Carlos Molina skipped court dates and evaded law enforcement and ultimately became a fugitive. He would have made it to the US if he hadn’t been arrested.

These are the types of dangerous people the Democrats are allowing to enter the US — convicted child rapists.

The new caravan left San Pedro Sula on Monday, heading northbound and has an estimated 800 people in the group.

President Trump is asking for $5.7 billion for border wall funding and the Democrats refuse to budge because they would rather have terrorists and child rapists enter the country than work with the president on border security.

Swiss MP Claims Turkey Sells Looted Syrian Olive Oil to Fund Militia

In 2018, the Turkish military entered Syria and advanced on the city of Afrin in operation "Olive Branch" against Kurdish forces located there. Ankara accused them of cooperating with the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), deemed a terrorist organisation by Turkey.

Swiss lawmaker Bernhard Guhl, representing the country’s Conservative Democratic Party, has informed authorities that Turkey could be exporting olive oil plundered in Syria in its military op there, but then being labelled as Turkish, The Telegraph reports. The oil is allegedly entering Europe, including Spain.

“In Turkish-occupied Afrin, the olive groves are being pillaged by both Turkish forces and the militias they support. The olives they steal have been sold to Spain, and the sale will continue”, he said.

According to the MP, who presented a corresponding motion in his country’s parliament, the revenue from the looted oil is flowing to Turkish-backed militias in Syria. He also asked how these allegations are being investigated.

“It doesn’t matter if the final destination is Spain or Germany but, I believe it is very important that the country or countries concerned launch a criminal investigation to determine whether companies are trading in stolen olives or olive oil”, the lawmaker insisted.

The allegations were brought to light by a journalistic investigation by the Spanish online newspaper El Público and the Kurdish Firat News Agency, which reported that they had obtained Turkish government documents on the matter.

Chinese investment in Israel could harm intelligence ties, US official warns

On Israel visit, deputy energy secretary says Washington wants Jerusalem to better screen foreign investments, especially from the Chinese

A senior US energy official warned Tuesday that unless Israel implements stringent screening procedures for Chinese investments, intelligence sharing between the two allies could be threatened.

US Deputy Secretary of Energy Dan Brouillette was visiting Israel for meetings that included talks with Energy Minister Yuval Steinitz and the head of Israel’s cyber directorate, Bloomberg reported.

China and Israel have stepped up trade and business ties in recent in years and launched free trade talks.

While urging vetting of all foreign investments, Brouillette made it clear that China was the primary concern.

The head of Israel’s Shin Bet security agency was said to raise similar concerns last week over China’s involvement in the country’s national infrastructure.

Brouillette encouraged Israel to take “aggressive steps” to monitor foreign investment to guard against any weaknesses in Israeli infrastructure which could compromise intelligence sharing with the US.

“We know that the the threat is growing each and every day,” Brouillette told reporters. “We’re going to share our experiences with China and let folks know that we have concerns with certain activities that we see coming out of China, specifically certain companies.”

DC court says Holocaust survivors can sue Hungary in the US for huge reparations

BUDAPEST — The second-highest court in the United States has reinstated a lawsuit brought by a group of Holocaust survivors and their families against the government of Hungary and its national railroad. The class action suit demands restitution for the role Hungary played in the murder of 500,000 Jews and the seizure of their property during World War II.

Setting the stage for what could be a landmark civil suit running into the tens of billions of dollars, Judge Patricia A. Millett wrote for the US Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit on December 28 that Hungary could not force the plaintiffs to have the case tried in a Hungarian court.

The decision overturned that of a federal judge who ruled that the 1947 Paris Peace Treaty between Hungary and the Allied powers granted Hungary immunity.

A 2016 decision from the Court of Appeals in the ongoing case similarly overruled an additional federal court decision, which also would have prevented the case from being brought in the US.

The Court of Appeals said that victims of the Holocaust can claim compensation in a US court for any Jewish property seized by Hungary from the moment the Jews were expelled from their homes, calling the theft “genocidal taking” in contravention of international law.

“This is probably the most important and the only litigation in which the Hungarian government and its national railroad will be held responsible for their role in the destruction of Hungarian Jewry between 1941 and 1945,” Marc Zell, the legal counsel for the plaintiffs, told The Times of Israel.

“Up until now, Hungary, which was a sovereign state during the time of WWII, has never been brought to justice for what it did, and attempted to exonerate itself from any liability in its peace treaty that it signed in 1947 with the Allied powers,” Zell said.
