US-led Coalition Airstrikes Kill Scores Of Civilians Fleeing ISIS In Euphrates Valley

On January 18, US-led coalition warplanes killed more than 20 civilians who were trying to flee the ISIS-held town of al-Baghuz al-Fawqani in the middle Euphrates River Valley, according to several Syrian sources.

“The number of victims is expected to raise as many wounded are in critical condition,” a reporter of the Deir Ezzor 24 blog said.

Local activists revealed that the victims, most of them were women and children, had managed to escape from al-Baghuz al-Fawqani and reached a checkpoint of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF). However, the US-backed group refused to let them pass and coalition warplanes targeted them on their way back to the town.

The US-led coalition and the SDF have not commented on these reports about the massacre in al-Susah so far. Usually, the coalition addresses such incidents within a few months claiming that there were no civilian casualties or their number was very low.

Costco is pulling Roundup from the shelves and will no longer sell the carcinogen

Two Daesh Militants of American Nationality Captured – Syrian Democratic Forces

Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) said in a statement on Saturday that they had captured two Daesh* militants of American nationality.

According to the statement, the SDF militants captured two Daesh terrorists, who allegedly are US citizens, Reuters reported.

Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) are the Kurdish-led military group backed by the US, fighting against Daesh in Syria.

Syria has been in a state of conflict since 2011, with numerous opposition groups and terrorist organizations fighting the Syrian Arab Army in an attempt to topple the government of Bashar Assad. Russia, along with Turkey and Iran, is one of the guarantor states of the Syrian ceasefire.

The US-led coalition of more than 70 countries is conducting military operations against the Islamic State terrorist group (IS, banned in Russia) in Syria and Iraq. The coalition's operations in Iraq are conducted in cooperation with the Iraqi government, but those in Syria are not authorized by the Syrian government or the UN Security Council.

Prominent LGBT Activist, Democratic Donor Charged In Teen Sex Abuse Case

"The ones that Terry likes are the young ones."

Prominent LGBT activist, Democratic donor, and strong supporter of Barack Obama, Terry Bean, was indicted earlier this month on two counts of sodomy and one count of sex abuse against a teenage boy.

According to Fox News, the Human Rights Campaign co-founder pleaded not guilty on Thursday after being arraigned for the charges, and was taken into custody at Lane County jail in Oregon. The indictment was made on January 4, but was not made public until Thursday.

Fox News details the long and difficult task that prosecutors faced after Bean was first charged with sexual abuse in 2014:

Bean, a gay rights activist who donated almost $70,000 of his own money to former President Barack Obama’s campaign, was charged with sexual abuse in 2014 but the case was dismissed after the alleged victim did not testify. Prosecutors refiled the charges after this, court records stated, according to The Oregonian. The 'alleged victim is not named in the new indictment' but the dates are similar to the previous charges, KGW8 noted.

Bean, a real estate developer, and his former boyfriend, Kiah Lawson, allegedly had sex with a 15-year-old boy in a Eugene, Oregon, hotel in September 2013. They allegedly used the app Grindr to arrange the sexual encounter. Lawson was also charged but his case was dismissed.

After the 2014 arrest, the mainstream media remained relatively silent about the charges against Bean. Portland's KOIN-6, however, did an interview with one of Bean's neighbors, who boldly proclaimed that he saw the Democratic donor frequently courting several underage boys while living next door.

"The ones that Terry likes are the young ones," said neighbor Jeff Warila in 2014. "They look like they’re under 18 for sure. And his friends come and they’re usually adults, but when Terry comes he has these boys with him. And I’m like [thinking], 'That’s weird.'"

When the story initially broke, the mother of Bean's former 25-year-old boyfriend told KOIN-6 that Bean "groomed" her son with "alcohol and Viagra" in order to "get [Bean] young kids." She said her son went from "a happy young man" to "someone who is not himself" after meeting Bean.

Derek Ashton, Bean's lawyer, said in an emailed statement to KGW8 this week that his client fell prey to a "blackmail scam."

"This case is a continuation of the 2014 blackmail scam by [Lawson] and others, including today’s accuser," said Ashton. "Bean is the victim and he has paid enough. We will see them in court."

US Border Patrol Arrests the Largest Group of 376 Migrants on Mexico Border

US President Donald Trump has said the situation at the US-Mexican border a “humanitarian crisis” and urged Democrats to approve funding for tightening border security.

US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) reported they arrested the largest group of illegal immigrants crossing US-Mexico border on their record earlier this week.

According to the CBP, there were 376 people in the group, including 179 children; 30 of those children were unaccompanied, the agency says.

"In my 30 years with the Border Patrol, I have not been part of arresting a group of 376 people," Anthony Porvaznik, the CBP sector chief in Yuman, said in an interview for ABC. "That's really unheard of."

The group was arrested near San Luis, Arizona, according to a report by The Hill.

Speaking in an interview, Porvaznik said CBP needs "better barriers" on the border to mitigate the influx of illegal immigrants from Central America.

Most of the migrants come from Central American countries, such as Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador. They form huge caravans, which sometimes include thousands of people, and march across Mexico in hopes of crossing the US border, apparently seeking US-grade social benefits, as evident by their mass neglect for Mexico's invitation to stay and apply for refugee status there.

In the meantime, Democrats, who dominate the House of Representatives, have blocked Trump's funding requests for his border protection project, which involves a $5.7 billion investment in construction of physical barrier on the border, forcing the government into longest shutdown in US history and furloughing hundreds of thousands of government employees without payment.

In a January 8 television address, Trump called the migrant situation a "humanitarian crisis," citing the flow of heroin and other drugs being smuggled from Mexico.

According to Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) fiscal year 2018 Enforcement and Removal Operations report, ICE arrested 2,028 illegal immigrants who had homicide offense histories. A similar report from 2017 indicated 1,886 arrests of illegal immigrants with homicide histories.

EUGENE, Ore. — Prominent gay rights activist and political fundraiser Terry Bean has been indicted in Lane County on two counts of sodomy and one count of sexual abuse.

Bean pleaded not guilty during an arraignment on Thursday.
