Everyone forgets that the presidential succession is not automatic unless both pres and vp are removed together.

If something happens to vp, president APPOINTS a new vp.

If something happens to pres, vp becomes president and APPOINTS a new vp.

Only time speaker is automatically promoted is if they are both removed SIMULTANEOUSLY
