Kek, scary?? This is the month we usally get these storms, it's nothing. They use to be a lot worse than they are now. I'm prepped, got everything we need for a few days, even if the power goes out which it won't. We'll stay warm and comfy at home, when it's over we'll clean out, tractor is ready, plenty of gas on hand. In the mean time I'll kick back with the pop corn and hang here with my ferns.

I know anon, I understand. I live with chronic pain, I use to go to my doctor twice a year, he would write a script for 6 months of pain med refills, now I have to go every month and take a piss test to get my meds and they have to be refilled on day 30, not day 28 or 29, day 30. The expense of paying for all these trips, piss tests and doctor visits hurts. And yet I could go to the corner of the block where the hospital sets and buy fentanyl saving money but then I'd risk death, jail and become part of the problem. I'll just have to jump through the hoops and keep praying for a better day. Prayer to your Mom anon, don't give up, keep praying. "Don't let the bastards get you down" a saying my buddy always use to say when he ended a call.

I don't think they use fentanyl outside of a hospital, controlled doses. I don't think you can get a script for it, maybe I'm wrong? It's very powerful and very easy to overdose on. The stuff on the streets is said to be pure, what would fit on the end of a pen cap in one thin layer is more then enough to kill many. It so strong handling it in powder form can absorb through the skin and kill you, that's why police have guidelines to use gloves when searching people and cars. Fentanyl is deadly stuff, if offered a script for it I'd refuse it and ask for morphine or vicodin instead.

It's always the story anon, the innocent always suffer. I'm OK, I just deal with it. But I'm lucky because of my long established history of medical problems, where someone with a new injury or illness, like elderly with cancer and the other anon's mom, they will be the ones who truly suffer because the doctors are scared to prescribe the pain meds and it breaks my heart.

Have you tried talking to hospice? Wonder if they could help with talking to the doctor about getting her the meds she needs? Or find another doctor, not all doctors are afraid to write the scrips, some are more hesitant than others. Also, the acetaminophen is a problem, ask the doctor about morphine, the brain metabolizes it the same, it's available is low to high dose pills, fast acting or slow time release, it's cheaper and doesn't have acetaminophen. Man I'm praying for her anon.
