Why was Barr chosen, given his shocking and deeply criminal/cover-up kingpin background?

Was Trump duped by Deep State enemies, who have placed another predator into his administration with the power to destroy his presidency? Or has Trump co-opted and turned Barr, in the hopes that Barr will do Trump’s bidding? Why would Barr ever turn against his own Deep State cronies?

Does Trump have a plan? With Barr in place, is Trump signaling to his enemies that “I now own the Deep State”? Or is Barr the Deep State’s ultimate and final weapon against Trump, who remains surrounded by Bush/Clinton “swamp creatures” such as National Security Adviser John Bolton, who is one of Barr’s many fellow Iran-Contra co-conspirators, Vice President Mike Pence (who is in ideal position for a coup against Trump, and remains very cozy with the Clintons, dozens of Obama appointees that remain in place, and Republican “Never Trumpers”, all of whom continue to undermine Trump.

Pay careful attention to the confirmation “hearings”. How many of the senators “questioning” Barr are themselves connected to the Bush/Clinton era criminal operations that Barr supervised as George H.W. Bush’s attorney general?

Will anyone in Washington, or in the CIA asset-filled mainstream media, dare bring up Iran-Contra? Will anyone dare detail Barr’s corruption, and his longstanding ties to the Bush/Clinton network? What about the fact that Barr is best friends with Robert Mueller?

Even the alternative media, including the whistleblowing research-intensive pro-Trump anon community, has been virtually silent on Barr, despite the fact that his criminal history is glaringly obvious, lurid, and begging to be exposed.

Rumors abound that slippery Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein is expected to leave the Justice Department following Barr’s likely confirmation. This further clears the way for Barr to seize the power to determine the fate of the Mueller probe, the John Huber (Inspector General) report, FISAgate, Clinton emails, Uranium One, and other key investigations.

William Barr could well determine the course of the political war between President Donald Trump and his enemies, and decide the fate of Donald Trump’s presidency itself.

EU Backs Financial Punishment for Nations That Reject Progressive Values

Members of the European Parliament have voted in favour of introducing financial sanctions as punishment for patriotic countries that reject the bloc’s progressive “European values.”

MEPs voted Thursday in Strasbourg, France, to back the European Commission’s proposal to cut EU budgetary disbursements to member states deemed to have broken the so-called “rule of law,” with 397 MEPs voting in favour and 158 against (69 abstaining), reports Politico.

The votes were notably split along eastern/western divides, with those in favour coming from establishment western European parties with those against coming from conservative and right-wing eastern parties.

European Commission budget chief Günther Oettinger said, “The current definition of the scope of the proposal provides for a proper balance between the (budget) and other aspects of the Union mechanism, for example, Article 7 of our Treaty.”

“It’s not a question of sanctions per se, it’s a question of the protections of the European money.”

“If there is a financial penalty, it must be proportionate to the gravity of the offence or breach of the principles of the rule of law,” Mr Oettinger added.

The proposal was widely seen as formalising another mechanism to punish Hungary and Poland for their perceived infringement on the Brussels rule of law and rejection of “European values,” with both nations being net beneficiaries of EU funds.

Hungary and Poland have come to blows with the bloc over national matters, with Poland’s reform of the Communist-era-dominated judiciary, Hungary’s legal reforms to stop the interference of foreign-funded civil society groups, such as billionaire philanthropist George Soros’s Open Society Foundations (OSF), in domestic affairs, and both countries’ rejection of the forced redistribution of third-world migrants.

The countries right-wing and conservative governments have all had Article 7 proceedings triggered against them; if invoked, it would result in the countries losing voting rights, and may now result in loss of funds, also.

Hungary condemned the results of the vote, with the government’s Minister for State for EU Policies Szabolcs Takács saying, “Hungary cannot be blackmailed into giving up her stance on migration.

“Today’s European Parliament vote on the MFF (Multiannual Financial Framework) Rule of Law proposal is yet another attempt to punish Central Europe with obvious political intention and will only lead to further conflicts in the EU.”

On 28 December last year Ms Pamela Geller cited one of Voice of Europe’s articles, added her very accurate comment – and a few drawings.

A pretty normal thing to do in the land of the free one would think. But no.

“According to Geller, who has been speaking out against the dangers of radical Islam for decades, Twitter has told her to seek legal counsel for breaking Pakistani law”, Big League Politics writes.

“Twitter has sent me notice ‘to consult legal counsel’ because the tweet below ‘is in violation of Pakistan [sharia]law.’ You bloody cowards can kiss my free ass. I am an American. You are an American company. Act like it, sniveling slaves”, she said on the platform.

“Sweden: Muslims who wanted to ‘kill as many as possible’ over Muhammad cartoon to be released from prison: Madness. These terrorists have threatened violence to staff and other prisoners during their prison sentence, with one requiring isolation after…” said the original Tweet for which Geller was flagged.

Pakistani law is Sharia Law, practiced by radical Islamists, under which women are considered property. The punishment for premarital sex is “100 lashes”. And adultery and apostasy – leaving the faith – are grounds for death by stoning.

Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Bin Abdulaziz Alsaud of Saudi Arabia, a Sharia Law country, owns the second-largest share of the Silicon Valley titan.

In 2015, a radicalised American Islamist plotted to behead Geller for “violating Sharia blasphemy laws.”

They mean to kill everyone who doesn’t do their bidding and abide by their law voluntarily,” she told CNN.

Texas police also thwarted an attempted attack against Geller in Garland, Texas, where her organization held a “Draw Profit Mohammad” contest. Images of Mohammad in any form are strictly forbidden by Islam.

Geller is also the subject of a fatwa – an order by an Islamic mufti – which mandates that she is to be killed for speaking out against Islam. She wrote a book about living under such threat of danger.

Steve Daines To Form The Senate’s First Pro-Life Caucus

Republican Montana Sen. Steve Daines announced Friday during the March for Life rally that he is forming the first ever pro-life caucus in the United States Senate.

“I’m the only chemical engineer in Congress and if you want to have a debate on the science, I’m ready to have it,” Daines told the crowd. “The science is clear, life begins at conception. And because of that, every life must be valued and every life must be protected.”

Unlike the House of Representatives, which works with pro-life grassroots organizations to promote life-affirming policies, the Senate has never has a caucus focused solely on pro-life issues.

“We’re finally going have in the Senate what the House has had for many years, so that the House and the Senate can work together on having a more strategic approach in how we’re going to move pro-life policies to the president’s desk,” Daines told the National Review prior to the rally.

“This will allow us to bring the pro-life groups that work off the Hill, as well as pro-life senators and other staff on the Hill, to unify us so we’re all pulling in the same direction to advance the pro-life cause,” the Montana senator continued.

Daines explained to the National Review that the caucus will focus primarily on judicial confirmations until Republicans have the necessary 60 votes in the Senate to override the legislative filibuster.

Sugar Industry Quietly Paid Scientists To Point Blame At Fat

n the 1960s, the sugar industry funded research that downplayed the risks of sugar and highlighted the hazards of fat, according to a newly published article in JAMA Internal Medicine.

The article draws on internal documents to show that an industry group called the Sugar Research Foundation wanted to “refute” concerns about sugar’s possible role in heart disease. The SRF then sponsored research by Harvard scientists that did just that. The result was published in the New England Journal of Medicine in 1967, with no disclosure of the sugar industry funding.

The sugar-funded project in question was a literature review, examining a variety of studies and experiments. It suggested there were major problems with all the studies that implicated sugar, and concluded that cutting fat out of American diets was the best way to address coronary heart disease.

The authors of the new article say that for the past five decades, the sugar industry has been attempting to influence the scientific debate over the relative risks of sugar and fat.

“It was a very smart thing the sugar industry did, because review papers, especially if you get them published in a very prominent journal, tend to shape the overall scientific discussion,” co-author Stanton Glantz told The New York Times.

The explosion took place in the town of Tlahuelilpan, Hidalgo, where hundreds of villagers gathered to illegally tap into a fuel line and fill plastic containers with stolen gasoline. The effort to tap the fuel lines comes as the people experienced a series of gas shortages due to the country’s effort to crack down on the widespread theft of fuel and oil products at the hands of drug cartels and organized crime groups.

Trump to use federal funds to prop up US bomb makers

WASHINGTON — U.S. President Donald Trump has approved direct federal investment for suppliers of American bomb parts and chemicals, part of as much as $250 million in direct investments by the Pentagon to fix supply chain vulnerabilities, Defense News has learned.

The government funding for those suppliers, under the Defense Production Act, is meant to lift a subsector of the defense-industrial base that the Pentagon deems weak. It’s also a significant step in broader plans within the administration to remedy fragile markets and foreign dependencies among the military’s suppliers.

“There will be many more of these to come to address gaps and vulnerabilities in the defense-industrial base,” Peter Navarro, director of the White House Office of Trade and Industrial Policy, said in an exclusive interview Wednesday. “This is exactly what we should be doing and an example of how the administration is more attentive to the issue.”

“A lot of these companies have only one customer, and they became fragile due to sequestration,” Navarro said. “The need this package addresses is to move to advanced manufacturing where some of the processes in use are from 60, 70, 80 years ago.”

The White House announced Wednesday that Trump signed four memos that the Pentagon would take action to strengthen the supply chain for precursor materials, inert materials, energetic materials and advanced manufacturing techniques for the production of chemicals.

It’s the latest move since more than a dozen working groups from across government completed a study of how to reinforce gaps in the defense-industrial base.

Which companies in the munitions subsector would receive the funding and how much would be available were unclear, but Navarro said the total would be in the “hundreds of millions, not the billions — which is a lot of money when you’re targeting sub-tiers of the supply chain.”

The Pentagon did not immediately provide details in response to requests from Defense News.

Timothy Egan, a New York Times contributing opinion writer, has a column today defending the tradition of rich people having an outsize role in our politics, because that’s just reality. But he slipped in not one but two cracks at Sheldon Adelson.

An 85-year-old casino magnate, Sheldon Adelson, now has more influence on American foreign policy than even the secretary of state, the Koch [Brothers] tool Mike Pompeo.

But the Kochs pay for politicians in order to enrich themselves and to gut regulations affecting the polluting industries that made them billionaires. Adelson got a similar tax windfall for the millions he put into electing Republicans, with the added benefit of controlling the State Department’s view of Israel.

This is a verboten statement that Egan managed to salt away in this column. You aren’t supposed to speak about a Jewish donor having influence or “control” or ranking the country’s top diplomat; but the facts are hard to contest. “Follow the money: Three billionaires paved the way for Trump’s withdrawal from the Iran deal,” Lobelog reported, demonstrating the influence of Adelson, Bernard Marcus, and Paul Singer. Adelson and his wife Miriam gave $90 million to Republican causes in the 2016 cycle and another $87+ million in the midterms last year. Adelson, who called on Obama to nuke Iran, was paid off by Trump with the destruction of the Iran deal, the move of the embassy to Jerusalem, and the defunding of the UN refugee agency for Palestinians. If that’s not control, give me a better verb.

It seems to me that Egan is emboldened by the new climate of politicization of Israel support: two BDS supporters have entered the House of Representatives, polls show declining regard for Israel among progressives and Democrats along with greater esteem for Palestine, and progressives now like to blame Adelson for the Israel lobby, not the Democrats who also support Israel through thick or thin. If Adelson is the only way journalists can attack the lobby, so be it for now…

Israel Began Nuclear Weapons Program Without Telling Gov't, Knesset, Memos Show

Israel's longstanding policy has been to neither admit nor deny that the country has nuclear weapons. However, estimates by reputable intelligence companies suggest the country has between 80 and 400 nuclear warheads, making it the only nuclear-armed state in the Middle East.

Tel Aviv began work on the Dimona nuclear reactor in 1958 without informing members of the government or the country's parliament, Israeli historian and Haaretz contributor Adam Raz revealed, citing a trove of primary documents he reportedly received from a secret source at an academic event.

The papers, which include notes, memorandums, drafts and summaries by senior Israeli officials of the time, including Israel Galili, an adviser to prime ministers Levi Eshkol and Golda Meir, Eshkol himself, cabinet member Yigal Allon and IDF commander Moshe Dayan, defence chief-turned prime minister Shimon Peres, and senior diplomat Abba Eban, helped Raz piece together important details about the clandestine project.

Moral Qualms and Cost Concerns

The papers revealed that Galili had several concerns about the nuclear endeavour, known as "the enterprise," including its potential to undermine Israel's "moral status," or cause then-Egyptian President Gamal Abdel Nasser to attack Israel to try to take out a "justified target." Finally, he feared that the program could incite Cairo to start work on its own nuclear program.

The documents also indicated that the cost of the Dimona reactor, estimated at about $53 million by Peres in April 1962, was revised upwards by Alon to "three times" the $60 million discussed by the cabinet in 1964. An undated note, presumably written sometime between 1963 and 1966, indicated that the real cost may have been as much as $340 million (about $2.7 5 billion in present day dollars, accounting for inflation). "

If it were known in advance that it would cost $340 million – would we have voted for Dimona?" the note, written by Eban to Galili, reads.

Meir Proposes Switching From Defence to Offence

The documents showed that after Eshkol succeeded David Ben-Gurion as prime minister in 1963, the new PM's foreign minister, Golda Meir, proposed admitting the existence of the program in a bid to get support from America's Jews.

"Our situation will be stronger when the struggle becomes public," she insisted, adding the need to "switch to offence instead of defence."

Interestingly, the papers reportedly show that Israeli leaders had to resist pressures to place the project under international supervision, not only from Charles de Gaulle of France, but even from the Kennedy, Johnson and Nixon administrations, who urged Israel to sign on to the non-Proliferation Treaty, which was being developed at the time. In one memo, Peres reportedly told Galili that "in order to overcome the supervision [that the US wanted], cooperation by both sides is needed."

Jordan condemns Israel violations near Al-Aqsa Mosque

The Jordanian foreign ministry yesterday condemned Israel’s actions near Al-Buraq (the Western Wall), stressing it is an inalienable part of Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Israel had reportedly set up steel and wooden structures near Al-Buraq, in contravention of the status quo agreement with Jordan over the administration of Al-Aqsa compound.

Foreign ministry spokesman, Sufian Al-Qudat, said that only the Palestinian Authority (PA) is responsible for dealing with issues related to Al-Aqsa Mosque, as stipulated by international law. Al-Qudat also stressed that Israel, as an occupying power, has to respect this agreement, Jordanian news agency Petra reported.

Al-Qudat also emphasised that Jerusalem’s Awqaf Department (which administers Al-Aqsa) is the only party with the power to carry out maintenance and renovation works in Al-Aqsa Mosque and the surrounding compound, an area which consists of 144 dunams (35 acres) of land.

The spokesman continued by reiterating the importance of the international community putting pressure on Israel to maintain the historical and legal status of Al-Aqsa Mosque. He blamed the Israeli occupation for anything which undermines the safety of the mosque and its worshippers, as well as calling for Israel to end all such measures immediately.

Jordan also called on Israel to hand over the brick which fell from the Al-Buraq on 23 July to Jerusalem’s Awqaf Department.

White House: Israeli TV Report on Peace Plan Not Accurate

US envoy says speculation about plan is 'not helpful'

White House officials have issued a statement on Friday rejecting Israeli Channel 13’s report on the Israeli peace deal, declaring the deal to be “inaccurate,” and saying that “very few people on the planet know what is in it.”

Channel 13’s report cited a “senior American official,” and presented a very broad-brush summary of the plan, including giving the Palestinians a state that included the majority of the occupied West Bank, and some of the Arab neighborhoods of East Jerusalem as their capital city.

Though this fairly unspecific report is in keeping with what most plans could be expected to contain, US special envoy Jason Greenblatt not only rejected the idea, but added that any speculation about what the US plan actually is “is not helpful.”

The Trump Administration has played up this plan as a “deal of the century” from the beginning, but has offered virtually no details of what it would actually contain. There is still no specific timeline for the release of the real plan.

The Covenant Is Broken

11 This is the word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord: 2 “Listen to the terms of this covenant and tell them to the people of Judah and to those who live in Jerusalem. 3 Tell them that this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: ‘Cursed is the one who does not obey the terms of this covenant— 4 the terms I commanded your ancestors when I brought them out of Egypt, out of the iron-smelting furnace.’ I said, ‘Obey me and do everything I command you, and you will be my people, and I will be your God. 5 Then I will fulfill the oath I swore to your ancestors, to give them a land flowing with milk and honey’—the land you possess today.”

They have followed other gods to serve them. Both Israel and Judah have broken the covenant I made with their ancestors. 11 Therefore this is what the Lord says: ‘I will bring on them a disaster they cannot escape.
