Yesterday, I mentioned that I couldn't bring up graphics on 8chan, very old breads. I sent CM an email and got this response today, just in case anyone else is wondering what's going on. It doesn't really mean much to me - dumb anon here. But I guess it's an explanation:

8chan has a first-party system with file deduplication. This means that, for the file to be visible in the archive, it has to be live somewhere on 8chan. If the file isn't reposted, the image disappears from the archive as well. Otherwise, we wouldn't be able to afford an archive in the first place.
