Three elements of a contract:

Offer: (Nancy Pelosi was asked to set a date for the SOTU address and she, both freely and of her own volition and in keeping with her duties and powers, did.)

Acceptance: (President Trump agreed, in writing, to the date NP proposed.)

Honor: Nancy is now declining to honor her offer and is, FWIW, in breach of contract.

Not a lawfag, but this is the gist of how contracts work and how very little it takes for one to exist. There are certain things, such as the illegality of the offer (Here's $20 if you'll kill Jim) or the untimeliness of the acceptance (Jim had a fatal heart attack, so I'm accepting your offer) which would void a contract, (there are others) but these elements are not present here. More than that, the President has the authority (Art. 2, section 3 of the Constitution) to call congress together whenever and wherever he damned well pleases. EG: asking her to set a date was never any more than a courtesy extended by the President so as to hold to social norms. He could have said "I want everyone in the parking lot of (some little town) Lowes at 10 am Monday." and Congress would have been duty bound (under the law of the Constitution) to be there.

Those are nothing more than locker-room slugs. Given and received in good humor.
