How about laws that will PUNISH HARSHLY Local, State and Federal employees who FAIL to do their job! The PEOPLE did their job - they reported this creep DOZENS of times. Government FAILED !

Harden the schools with a Volunteer Self Defense Force. Punish AND EXPOSE gov. officials.

Each USN ship has a self-defense force, made up of selected crew members. They train & drill.

Schools could do the same if the legal framework allowed. Selected & trained employees (and community qualified volunteers to make up the slack) that train monthly. Get the community involved by asking for training from local professionals (LEOs, Pro Instructors, Vets).

Not a militia, employees - just like POTUS mentioned only more organized and trained together and not just as individuals.

I guess it's my failure to articulate my thoughts. 4-6 teachers, janitors, principles or secretaries trained together, instructed by local professionals. Why not do drills - and publicize the hell out of it locally. Show the community, this school is cares and will not allow this craziness. Threats will be confronted. I believe that the parents and community would more that show support but support it financially as well.

All the companies and LEOs and professionals who assist the schools get special recognition.

Thinking further, why not have the local military recruiters involved as well. Train the self-defense force, train kids on what to do during the drills.

The needs to be a real exposing of a real event (like this school shooting) all the way up. Everything should be laid out to see. Money trails, stand down orders, intelligence - they have it, drop it on them. Complete exposure of all involved.

Gun laws and School hardening - my suggestions.

1) Remove all Gun Free Zones from Schools

2) Establish laws that enable the schools to form their own

Volunteer Self-Defense Force (following POTUS guidelines)

3) Establish the framework to allow local professionals (LEOs, Vets, Gun Clubs/Org, NRA, Military Recruiters, Qualified Volunteers from the Community) to train, equip, and support the local VSDT (Volunteer Self-Defense Team).

4) Establish training schedules, meetings, drills

5) Publicize it locally – make it a show of Local Pride – Our Kids Matter – We Protect Them!

Think of this like the Volunteer Fire Departments that are all over the country.

As for gun laws:

1)Don’t raise the age (it’s hypocritical to vets) – require training / courses

We used to have Gun Safety Courses & Hunter Safety Courses – bring something like this back for 18-20 year olds who want to purchase a weapon. Should be presented at time of purchse/background check.

2) Background checks – a law that ensures that it is up to date and being utilized correctly. Punishment (severe) for those who fail in their job. It has not been the public who has failed to enter the data, ensure the data is accurate. This last shooter should have been flagged. This must stop – we do not need to hand over freedoms if the government continually fails to do its part. Severe Punishment and Complete Exposure for those who fail.

3) Bump-stocks – take them but it is a waste of effort. If you do, ENSURE the language of the does not infringe on our rights. FYI to all: A rubber band can be used on almost any semi-auto firearm to simulate a bump-stock – lots of youtube vids
