I did about 3 months of AA early in my recovery. It's roots are shady to say the least. Sorry, no sauce, just experience. Its not the healthiest route to go. The first 2 steps basically have you insist that you're flawed beyond repair without the help of something outside of yourself.

 

No respect for free will or self determination. And its evident in the members that had 30+ years sober, yet still couldnt be in the same room as someone drinking. Complete, pathetic avoidance.
