Why is Jesus depicted with a sword in His mouth? Because He speaks the truth, and the truth in a world that believes, promotes, and prefers deception is as damaging and consequential as an act of war. It can be violent to those who live and breathe lies. It can uproot the false anchors we have tethered ourselves to and bring chaos.
Our president wields this same sword, if you ask me.
