This assumes they follow their own rules. There's a lot of loop holes built in even for those that identify as practicing. Talmudic Judaism is very legalistic, lots of statutes. Would be crippling to follow all of them in modern times, so there are lots of technically allowed run-arounds. Also, many ethnic Jews in the U.S. are secular, not practicing. Whatever RBG's orientation, the cabal players operating at the SCOTUS level would either ignore or find some excuse to get around a religious technicality, not be bound by it. These people are ruthless opportunists. Religious when it suits them, free agents when not.

Heritage doesn't necessarily mean one follows the same ideologies/religious practices as their ancestors. Although our basic natures are very heritable, and culture is downstream of it, which is why different peoples have evolved distinct cultures.

Whatever their degree of religious adherence, ethnic Jews founded Communism (ideologues such as Marx and leaders such as Lenin & Trotsky) and disproportionately support communist/socialist policies in whatever nation they live in (well, save Israel. They're a bit more protectionist/nationalist there).
