So Pelosi and Schumer think that they have Trump over a barrel because they can't/won't negotiate on the budget until they get a continuing resolution and reopen the gov't.
Once the government is open, all of Trump's leverage is gone and the swamp runs roughshod over him with budget bills and endless investigations. He can't capitulate and reopen the gov't in status quo mode.
The whole RIF thing seems interesting. I considered it would be interesting for Trump to start RIF'ing federal workers tomorrow as a negotiating tool. Say, 10000 per day until Pelosi cries uncle. A delicious thought, but it's too much. The media would crucify Trump and I think there'd be a good chance he'd lose a lot of support of the people who sympathize with the laid off bureaucrats.
But then again, we have the server[s]. So, we have multiple bombshells that all drop. Voter fraud in recent house races? Sex scandals? C_A, DOJ, Maverick WH planned coup or assassination attempts? Mueller investigation really a coverup? All of the above and more? Can house reps be RIF'ed? Surely their staffs can be RIF'ed, cripple them until ethics committee has at them.
I almost feel like this is the only way Trump can go and win bigly on this deal. Are there any other good options for POTUS?
Barr confirmation seems like one interesting development (goes along with RR departing), but isn't that vote to confirm still weeks out in the senate? Can we keep doing this shutdown for weeks?
I am continuously gorging on popcorn and praying for success here!
