>Ann Vandersteel

this anon's almonds got activated by this story in general. but the last name is interesting in and of itself. obviously a dutch name - van der Steel. but very uncommon - had never heard it myself.

fwiw "steel" has several meanings in dutch. the two that seem to have the most relevance are:

  1. the main use of the word is as the 1st person present of "stelen" which means to steal. So ik steel = i steal. i don't see how this could be the basis of the name (van der = from the; so the name "van der Berg" / "van den Berg" = from the mountain).

  2. Steel is also used as a noun. "Steel" = Slave. this could be the reference in the name. van der Steel - van der Slave…..or arising from or out of a slave.

would be like "fitz" in irish……where fitzwilliam means bastard of william.

in any case it is a fucked up name if you ask me. might be some proper dutchanons around with a better view/opinion as to the origin of the name.

>Could the name be made up? There is something about her and the group she's with that seems very artificial. Funny–Stalin's name means "steel"–and it's a madeup name.

doubt it is made up as a name (could be a nom de pen; were that the case i would want to know whay choose Vandersteel). i find very few people with the name when i search in the netherlands. when i search regions in the US heavy on dutch immigrants (michigan for example), i get rafts of people with the name. so a bit strange. not going to dig this as doubt there is anything productive at the bottom for our purposes here. but would like to know why am not finding the name in NL.

>could a quantum system access cellular memory in deoxyribonucleicacid?

i's not very efficient today needing multiple posts. but this: http://www.oxfordscholarship.com/view/10.1093/0195126564.001.0001/acprof-9780195126563

is required along with the mitochondrial memory. The abstract of the book is actually shit (i have the book and have read it); the key contribution of Kane is the proposal that incompatibilist freedom of the will springs from quantum indeterminate events in the brain.

>other shills just be jealous because AIAnon knows how to shill in a masterful way

this anon always pays close attention to what aei has to say. one of the most well read anons on this board - just the shit on dna memory should tell anyone worth a shit in here more than enough.

>you presuppose freewill as a constant.

this anon presumes only that freewill is incompatible with deterministic event causation. that it acts like a variable from a variety of perspectives seems less than problematic.

"a staff moves a stone moved by a hand moved by a man" which is made true given that some x is both a man and is such that he moved his staff in the mode of an unmoved mover
