State of Emergency declared in Newport County, RI in towns of Newport and Middletown by Governor of Rhode Island. "Natural gas issues" leave over 7,000 homes without heat on the coldest night of the season. Currently 6 degrees F with wind chill -12.

National Grid is in the process of shutting down gas to all homes.

National Guard has been deployed.

Interesting to note, Middletown is hometown of General Flynn. And more recently, Sean Spicer.
