Within the context of the left's propaganda, men want women barefoot and pregnant. Within the experience of many women, they or their friends end up pregnant while 'enjoying sex' and then suddenly are smacked in the face with the reality that no one was planning on a family.
The abortion issue further entrenches the left into their belief that they are under assault and fighting for freedom. "Men use pregnancy to hold women down." This is why, again, the contradiction in what feminism has become is maddening to the left. Women are supposed to be more than a fuck-hole, but wear your pussyhat for "reproductive rights."
It's why you have certain personalities willing to champion this as some kind of a right that should be exercised like a right to free speech - get pregnant just to have an abortion.
The reality is that abortion is a very instinctively shameful experience to go through. This further entrenches the abusive trends in behavior and rationalizes the "you shouldn't be ashamed" thought process where women 'come out' as having had abortions or seemingly get into a race with each other to be the one to have the most abortions.

Of course, there are those on the sidelines more than happy to part out the aborted children and/or to consider the movement they put into play to be a sort of ritual sacrifice.
