And overtly. In the feminist ideology, there is no such thing as benevolent male power. The fundamental premise of feminism is that men's only drive is to control and exploit, to use power for their own gain, and at the expense of anyone less powerful. A complete misrepresentation of the male psyche, and one that destroys trust between the sexes.
Any woman (or man) indoctrinated in feminist ideology will interpret displays of male power as motivated by desire to harm and control, not to preserve and protect. And so all the men of good conscience are shamed out of using their power, and the only "good" man is a weak one, under the control of women (who are the only ones who can be trusted, obviously…).
