Last week, we reported about Iggy Pop being used in an Amnesty International anti-torture campaign, where the rocker announces that Justin Bieber is the future of rock ‘n’ roll. Well, it turns out that Amnesty didn’t actually have permission to use Iggy’s picture, so they’ve had to publicly apologise and remove it from their campaign.

The image is a battered Iggy Pop with the quote, “L’avenir du rock’n’roll, c’est Justin Bieber” which translates to “The future of rock ‘n’ roll, it’s Justin Bieber.” The campaign was supposed to highlight the message “torture a man, and he will tell you anything,” but appears to have pissed off monsieur Pop instead. Iggy tweeted the link to the apology, which appeared on Amnesty’s Belgian website last Friday.
