Actually, Hubble didn't think the red-shift was due to an expanding universe. He went to his grave believing it was a result of something we didn't understand. Historians simply want to credit Hubble with it because he was the one that found the relationship. Obviously Halton didn't agree with it either.

Shutdown doesn't have anything to do with Congress being in session. It does, however, provide some optics for POTUS to adjourn (or convene) Congress as a matter of national emergency, which would allow him to put all of his current backlog of nominations in place without any approval process.

I wonder if the anon's theory about this being a white-hat setup is true, that the point was to draw out the actual racists and otherwise criminal element not just in social media, but the tools in the MSM and the government. The journalists are ruining their careers (getting fired), and then sitting congress critters are similarly libeling the kids.

NOW, couple this with the very low bar being set to censure King, and suddenly Ilhan's (and others') comments rise quite a bit above that even. Do they end up getting censured, too, or outright booted?

Not his fault. What's he going to do? It'll take a decade to approve them all even if they move quickly. He needs a reason to adjourn both chambers. The fight over the wall and the nonsense with NP getting out of town in a hurry just may be his ticket.
