My fellow suffering alcoholic, I made a conscious decision "NO MATTER WHAT COMES DOWN THE PIKE, I DON'T DRINK"
I can eat a gallon of ice cream daily, smoke two packs, over exercise, under exercise, whatever it takes…… JUST DON'T PICK UP A DRINK
On Feb 9th I will celebrate 25 years of sobriety and it has gone so quickly it's been painless, honestly. Sure life has ups and downs but how about living with no fear because you have the tools to live life, no regrets of the past because you learn to make amends 'fearlessly' and with 'humility'
Nor do we wish to close the door on the past, once we are honest about who we are, no one can tell us anything we don't know, no surprise skeletons but when our story can be useful to another suffering alcoholic, we are not afraid or ashamed to tell our story
The alcoholics sins are not the worst but we often feel as if they are because of our sense of guilt.
This is why the alcoholic can be redeemed,,,,, CONSCIENCE COMPASSION FOR OTHERS, A NEED TO BE FORGIVEN v those evil ones who perpetrate against us with no conscience for the damage their abuses of others causes, could care less..
Clearly You care, well on your way to giving up the booze completely, just DON'T PICK UP A DRINK NO MATTER WHAT, EVERYTHING ELSE WILL WORK ITSELF OUT IT TIME AS YOUR LIFE BALANCES.
Do things for other, small things, open doors, help carry groceries, smile at someone., give up your seat… you give them Hope to believe in the goodness of mankind again, & you benefit from the energy of joy that comes with just these small efforts. I won't describe,it's so beautiful to experience your heart opening up to the light. God Bless ODAT.

Prince William says celebrities refused to help with mental health charity

Prince William told a Davos World Economic Forum Wednesday that he approached a lot of celebrities to join him in his Heads Together mental health initiative three years ago but all refused.
"For some reason, people are embarrassed about their emotions - British people particularly," he told the audience at Davos, the BBC reported. He said they didn't want to be associated with mental illness.
He said the wartime generation might have had a hand in creating the stigma surrounding mental health, according to the report. He said past world wars may have set the trend.

“A whole generation decided that this was the best way of dealing with it. They then, completely by accident, passed that on to the next generation," he said, according to the Guardian. "So a whole generation inherited [the idea] that this was the way you deal with your problems: you don’t talk about it."

The Duke of Cambridge was at the forum with New Zealand's prime minister Jacinda Ardern, who has also made tackling mental health a priority, the outlets reported.
