It is entirely possible that the anons obsessing over how the IRS taxes a 'Priest's' income have gone to bed. Last bread it was a pretty hot topic (whether his income is tax-exempt or not, due to Churches having tax-exempt status.) I have the answer for anyone still wondering:
I believe a 'priest' would be subject to the same tax laws governing Protestant Church's Pastoral Staff. In light of this, since IRS forms generalize in catch-all terms such as 'cleric,' 'clergy,' and 'priest,' I can absolutely verify that even though a "Pastor" may derive his income from ministering to a tax-exempt organisation, the Pastor's paycheck is taxed just like yours, (possibly at a higher rate, if the congregations before whom he speaks compensate him as an 'Independent Contractor.')
