Kentucky speaker seeks to quell 'distraction' by resigning

FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) — Kentucky's Republican House speaker resigned his leadership post, declaring he did not want the secret sexual harassment settlement he signed to be a distraction from the chamber's legislative worK.

The Saudi authorities have transferred the remaining detainees being held in the Ritz-Carlton hotel to Al-Ha’ir prison, south of Riyadh, Al-Araby Al-Jadeed news site reported.

 

Sources told the news site that nearly 60 detainees were transferred to the most high security prison in the Kingdom. The prisoners include Prince Al-Waleed Bin Talal as Prince Turki Bin Abdullah and a number of government officials who refused to make the large financial payments for their release.

A month after President Donald Trump called the FBI “dishonest” and “in tatters,” director Christopher Wray said Tuesday he is “honored” to be representing the agents and employees of the bureau but he conceded he pays more attention to Twitter these days.

 

During his previous stint in government, Wray told an audience at Fordham University he thought of tweeting as “something that birds did.” But Twitter is now “a little bit more on my radar,”
