Alex Salmond facing 14 charges including attempted rape, adamantly denies allegations
Former First Minister of Scotland Alex Salmond has said he “absolutely refutes” any accusations of criminality after he was charged on Thursday with two counts of attempted rape and nine counts of sexual assault.
Salmond was arrested and charged in Scotland yesterday after voluntarily going to the police station to be questioned on the allegations, but was not held in custody overnight. The former SNP leader, who hosts a show on RT, was also charged with two counts of indecent assault and one count of breach of the peace.
In a statement after appearing in court on Thursday, Salmond denied the allegations and said he was “innocent of any criminality.” He said that given that proceedings were underway in the current case, he was unable to comment further other than to say he refuted the accusations and would defend himself “to the utmost” in court.

Jobless Claims Hit Lowest Level in 49 Years
The U.S. jobs market is sizzling.
The number of people seeking jobless benefits dropped last week to the lowest level since November 1969, a sign the job market remains strong despite the partial government shutdown, now in its fifth week.
The last time claims were this low the labor market was half the size it is now.
Jobless claims, which are a proxy for layoffs, have been closely followed for signs that tariffs could weigh on the U.S. economy. So far this metric signals that those predictions have not come true.
The Labor Department said Thursday that weekly applications for unemployment aid declined 13,000 to a seasonally adjusted 199,000. The four-week average, a less volatile figure, dropped 5,500 to 215,000

The Literal Meaning of "Antichrist"
As used in the Bible, the term combines the Greek word, "anti", with the title commonly given to Jesus. The main meaning of this word is, "instead of" or, "in place of".
"Antichrist", therefore means, literally, "someone who stands instead of, or in place of, the real Jesus Christ".
It could be someone who bears the actual name, "Antichrist".
It could be someone who falsely claims to be Christ.
It could be a false Christ, promoted by others, in place of the real one.
It could be someone who falsely claims authority to speak for and exercise the authority of the real Christ.
Less obviously, but nevertheless equally valid, it could describe a religion with the outward form of Christianity, but using the Bible and the name of the real Jesus, to disguise a Christ whose teachings and standards are quite different to those of the real one. Such a Christ would also be, really, a false Christ and those who preached about him would be false prophets.
All of these possibilities imply apostate, counterfeit Christianity and, in fact, all are relevant to our recognition of the identity of Antichrist.
