They've been pounding on this narrative for several days straight, now.
Judaism has been around for some time and has several different iterations. It is a subject I admit I am not very knowledgeable of, on the whole. I do recall one guy I spoke with one evening, though, who was reading "Rabbi Akiba's Messiah."
Much of the tribal judaism of biblical times has been organized and truncated into various reforms and consolidations over the years that have largely re-cast the old teachings within the frame of the current paradigm/dogma.
This is somewhat distinct from the line of the Pharisee, as well.
Part of me wonders if this variety of shill is supposed to be against us… Or just be an indication on "dig in this area next." For all the exhaustive commentary on the history of christianity, greek religions, babylonian customs, and even islamic teachings… We often have very little in the way of study of the history of judaic teaching and beliefs.
The belief that they "believe the old testament" is somewhat wrong while all of the inflammatory rhetoric doesn't really get us much of an understanding.
