I was seeing a girl for months and lost her over this. When she was in the shower, I was watching a YouTube video about the latest Q drops. She got out of the shower and saw it in the recently searched and asked what it was. I attempted to explain. She stopped talking to me within a week.
I feel your pain and frustration. Hopefully time will prove us correct.

My grandfather was also a a son and good man, but Masonry has different levels (degrees). It has compartmentalized knowledge.
It is my opinion that what the top knows/does is much different than the lower levels.
I'd suggest researching 33 (32?) Degree masons to get a better idea about why a lot here feel the way they do. There's plenty to be concerned about.
I don't doubt that they are (your family being good peeps). Don't take what people say about Masons as an attack on them. I completely understand the defensivness.
I wish I could better remember what I found in my past research. Honestly hearing and learning about the masons was what started me down the conspiracy road, many, many years ago.
