Subject: Heads up…

Republicans are looking for anything to mess with us on, so the Washington Examiner today at the White House briefing tried to bring me up as an example of someone who left the White House and then lobbied — allegedly against the Administration's stated policy – on Cuba.

The White House flagged it for me. They're not going to engage any further so I have to get back to the reporter and knock it down. To be clear, I didn't lobby during my consulting tenure. I provided public affairs services, strategic communications and press engagement. To the extent I was in touch with the White House, it was to be supportive of what the White House was already doing. Any lobbying was handled by my clients without me.

I'll keep you posted if anything else develops, but it is a bogus story. Here's the exchange from today's White House press briefing:

Susan, I'll give you the last one.

Q Thank you, Josh. Two things. While you were out here in the briefing, it seems like CNN – I'm looking on Twitter here so I can't be quite sure – is reporting that U.S. officials are saying that the early belief is that a bomb brought the plane down – the Egypt airplane down. I'm wondering if you can confirm that they've found wreckage and whether that – if you could confirm that U.S. officials are believing this is a bomb.
