New photos of Russian military exoskeleton used in Syria

Russian media has released fresh photos of an advanced military exoskeleton, designed to help soldiers carry heavy mortars and fire 700 machine gun rounds without reloading. The devices have already been used in Syria.

The images of the device were published earlier this week by RIA Novosti news agency.

Their equipment is designed for army engineers and sappers but may be used by other troops as well.

The exoskeleton helps soldiers to carry heavy objects as it protects their joints and spine, effectively absorbing most of the weight, the designers say.

Iranian TV anchor jailed in US as a material witness says her detention was a warning to ‘watch your step’

Marzieh Hashemi spoke to Associated Press on Thursday, a day after being released from custody. She was not charged with a crime but was detained for 10 days as a material witness in a grand jury investigation in Washington. Details of the investigation are under seal, and Hashemi said she could not provide details. But she said it is not related to terrorism and has to do with her job and the fact that she lives in Iran.

Hashemi said her arrest was unnecessary because she would have voluntarily appeared for questioning and would have complied with a federal subpoena.

2020 hopeful Elizabeth Warren appeared on CNN’s Anderson Cooper, where she appeared to not know how many branches of government exist.

Back in November, Daily Caller reported on newly-elected representative Alexandria Ocasi-Cotrez’s blunder in trying to name the three branches of government.

Progressive darling and Democratic Rep.-elect Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York didn’t accurately name the three branches of government on Sunday despite her upcoming role as a congresswoman.

“If we work our butts off to make sure that we take back all three chambers of Congress, uh, rather, all three chambers of government — the presidency, the Senate and the House — in 2020,” Ocasio-Cortez said. “We can’t start working in 2020.”

An array of Tesla Powerpacks — the industrial-size batteries helping power a Hawaiian island and part of Australia — may soon plug in to a Pacific Gas and Electric Co. substation in Moss Landing (Monterey County).

PG&E asked state regulators Friday to approve four contracts for using big batteries to help support the electrical grid in several locations. The one in Moss Landing would be designed and built by Palo Alto’s Tesla, while PG&E would own and operate it. The other three projects would be owned and run by other companies.

PG&E asked the California Public Utilities Commission to vote on the contracts within 90 days.
