All true. Not to mention that if he gives the SOTU, the SCOTUS will show up per tradition, and Ginsberg will be noticeably absent. Cue up another SCOTUS pick!
Also, as best I understand it, the RIF is already taking place. The law states that after 30 days an RIF an be triggered, but offers no further details on stopping the process if the government reopens soon after. We know from a couple days ago Trump and Mulvaney over at OMB ordered departments to begin the RIF process. Nothing will stop it now.
So optics wise, Trump looks like he really was fighting for the poor, defenseless government workers (ie DS bureau-cRATS), he's compassionate in wanting to make sure they get paid, but behind the scenes there are going to be mass layoffs in the coming weeks.
Also, as much as we don't care about the Super Bowl, Normies still do. So by getting the TSA back up to "protect" the SB, optics wise again it looks like Trump isn't trying to stick it to the Americans.
Then, in three weeks we'll be shut down again because the the Dems won't fully fund the barrier, leaving Trump no choice but to then use his nuclear option, as he stated at the beginning of the speech. Normies see the Dems as obstructionists unwilling to put the safety and security of Americans first.
TL:DR Trump wins. Fuck off shills.
