Hey guys. Got a glimmer of hope today. Much needed after spending too much time on the internet. F2F friends we've known for some time but hadn't seen in a couple years -
They're from California and now live in my red state. You can imagine the disagreements we've had over politics. We were guarded before we went to see them this evening, because politics is so heavy in the air right now. The truth is, this California man didn't think that both the House and Senate made up all of Congress. Yeah, that kind of liberal. But they are both smart and we love them.
Got into politics this evening. I was stunned. They're not "glowing" Trump fans, but I recall them being very disappointed in him in the past. They've been fully red-pilled. FULLY. They were talking about how Trump is doing things that he can to drain the swamp and about all of the corruption in DC. They didn't know some of the finer details as I do, probably because they don't spend as much time online as I do. (kek)
I'm pretty much a defeatist at this point. It's mostly from my personality, but I've lost hope for America as we have known it. I think she's too far gone, but seeing my liberal-biased friends wake up has been pretty spectacular. I mean, they are basically raised with a marxism bias in Cali and they were from the ghetto zones full of democratic dependents. It was a shock to hear them spill the truth knowing they don't fully understand the country's foundation. It was never in their school curriculum as it is in my state (which is weakening all the time).
They were never anti-abortion before, but are absolutely livid over the NY legislation re full term abortions. They were absolutely LIVID. It's hard to argue for killing healthy babies near full-term. So I get that.
My friend was like "Hey, if a state votes for something and I disagree I respect it. Because that's how the system works, but this shoving things down everyone's throat is bullshit."
I congratulated him for his conservative ideals. He said, "But wait. I'm not all gun happy and Christian!" I corrected him and said conservatives are usually Christian and gun nuts, but the real meaning of conservativism is a respect and admiration for the way things work in the United States.
And that's why I'm a defeatist, because the cabal and the left has ruined this respect. We'll never really have another president. They have spent 2 years nearly performing a coupe and disrespecting the way things work. That was my argument in the beginning: Then be grateful for term limits, as I told them. But they haven't stopped.
