Ackshually…I learned in a history class that the phrase when Marie Antoinette said it meant the burnt caked crud that gathers on the inside of wood stoves. Hence, when she said it, she meant the peasants could eat the burnt shit caked inside their woodstoves.
Yea I like cake, too. And ID even K if what I learned was true; I mean it came from a history professor so made sense in context.
Let me tell you tho, the best part of cake is the icing and here's my peanut butter icing recipe just for keks. It goes well on chocolate cake, of course:
1/2 stick butter
equal amount peanut butter
1 tsp vanilla
2 cups confectionary sugar
splash milk – maybe 2 TBSP
Blend butter & PB w/ vanilla. Add milk. Blend. Add sugar. Blend. Too moist? Add a bit ore sugar. Blend. Too dry? Add a bit ore milk. Blend. Repeat till desired consistency. Yum!
