Pelosi's only game is to say no. She's being attacked from all directions except the hard left because they know her only response is no. As an example, POTUS said yesterday that many dems were at the WH with concerns for border security and should be given the chance to show where they stand with a house vote. Pelosi said no reflexively, and you knew that's what she would do. That means, to me, it was planned as a positive outcome for the POTUS team.

The problem for her is she needs attention and a faction to speak for, but the only group who eat her BS up is the hard left. She blew off up her moderate faction yesterday for sound bites, gloating and the admiration of the hard left. Looking back, it's like the state of the country when Nixon came back in '68 and '72. Nixon pitched a common sense, man with a game plan approach against screeching lefties. 520 to 17 EV win was the result.

The other thing is, Pelosi has to be this stubborn for a reason. My thinking is that the big money donors, the only reason she still leads the dem house, IMO, aren't accepting any compromise. She has to do what they pay her to do.

POTUS listed the reasons for declaring a SOE yesterday, especially emphasizing human trafficking. No room for interpretation, here; SOE, if need be. is coming to stop, among other things, human trafficking. Why would someone say no to measures directed at stopping that? Because you're making money off it, perhaps? With EOs authorizing asset forfeiture of individuals/groups involved in human trafficking it apparently has become a fight for existence. Pelosi, arguably, can't react any other way or they all will go down, so she is being intentionally being forced into situations where her reflexive no saying, even before an offer is made public in some cases, peels off more and more of those moderates who may have supported a more compromising approach. When she falls, no one is going to shed a tear, let alone defend her.

I think we should keep an eye on the RIF scenario, too. Now there are established dates involved, and the OPM put out an AWOL notice/warning the other day (blue flu players?). The 3 week timeline must have a strategic importance because I just think that's the way POTUS rolls, so it might tie in to gov layoffs somehow. I Also read that new DoD RIF guidelines (Feb 2017) weigh performance ratings higher than tenure, so slackers. blue flu sufferers could be SOL.
