"FRANCE’S anti-government yellow vest protesters announced on Wednesday plans to put forward a list of candidates to run in upcoming European parliament elections, drawing mixed reactions from established political parties.

"The spontaneous, citizen-led movement has been marred by violence, but the would-be EU lawmakers have promised to turn the people’s anger into a “human political project”. The 'gilets jaunes' already have 10 names on their list for the crunch May vote, and have urged fellow yellow vests to join the initiative. But the bold move has been slammed by some and welcomed by others.

"Government spokesman Benjamin Griveaux told Radio Classique on Thursday: 'Everyone in our country is free to constitute a list, to carry their ideas. It’s healthier for people to do so openly, at the ballot box … than in balaclavas during protests and using violence,' he continued.

"The head of France’s far-right Rassemblement national opposition party Marine Le Pen – who is banking on the vote to expand her movement’s power and influence in the EU parliament –, offered a more lukewarm response.

“ 'It is never bad news when democracy works,' Mrs Le Pen said, adding that she has “no problem” with a yellow vest list. She did, however, warn against a “recuperation” of the movement by radical leftists.

DS has a real timing problem. They've been carefully planning the big takeover–for decades, maybe centuries.

But things always get behind schedule because human beings have an annoying habit of resisting coercion–even in little ways. So they are forced to delay, slow things down.

That's happened a lot. I think they started get both impatient and cocky. They really thought the global warming (then Climate Change) was their ticket to success. It got to be too much of a temptation to show their hand. And they did.

Now they're stuck. It really doesn't take that many stubborn resisters to mess up their plans.

I was thinking so, too. The number of abortions is going down, not up. I have to tell you, also, I was on the fence on abortion for decades. Not that I would ever condone the kind of law they just passed in NY. But I can remember back when women who became pregnant out of wedlock were so shamed; this became a wedge feminists used to make well-meaning people see abortion as some kind of deliverance. I knew women who suffered a lot because of this shame. How could I judge them for seeking a way out?

People no longer believe in shaming women who become pregnant; and we understand so much more about the unborn now. Many people are changing as I did.

The New York law will not stand. It may be the red line that many will not cross.
