Hidden in the literal history of the Bible are pictures of Christ within pictures of Christ. The story is told over and over again pointing forward to the cross. When they all speak of Christ there sometimes look like each other.

The history after the cross has hidden pictures of Christ pointing back to the cross, which is why history looks like it repeats.

The book of Revelation is the same story as the Book of Genesis and the others. It speaks of the cross. Even if historical events look like events in Revelation, the point is still to look at the cross.

See Rev 1:1

The Revelation of Jesus Christ, - it's about Jesus

which God gave unto him, - which God gave to Jesus before the cross

to shew unto his servants - that he shared with his disciples

things which must shortly come to pass; - about the cross

and he sent and signified it by his angel [messenger]- they forgot, so the Holy Spirit reminded John

unto his servant John:

The Book of Revelation is the secret teaching of Jesus to his disciples, before the cross, of the cross. The symbols unlock the pictures of Christ in the OT that he told on the Road to Emmaus.
