I think there are aspects of the AR debate we are not exploiting.

Who are the major benefactors if AR pattern rifles are banned in the United States? Who are the major benefactors if Americans see the AR pattern rifle as a weapons of mass destruction and mass murder?

Russia! or more accurately the enemies of the United States, whoever they may be.

AR pattern weapons (the M military versions) have been engaged in combat against AK pattern weapons for over 50 years. AR's are a symbol of American military power, and a symbol of our 2nd Amendment. There is no greater propaganda victory for enemies of the United States than to take away AR's from the public (especially veterans), and to make the public recoil in fear at the sight of an AR-15.

This needs to be explained publicly. We can't talk about (((them))) without triggering conspiracy response in normies, but we can openly talk about Russia, Iran, NK acting against the United States. We can make a compelling argument to the public that enemy agents are contacting and exploiting our mentally ill to encourage mass murder so they can achieve propaganda victories and demoralize the United States. Therefore, we must stop these bad actors from making contact with our mentally ill by investigating online sources of disinformation, propaganda, mind control or whatever.

This argument is persuasive because libs subconsciously know that many of the recent mass shooters are connected to the Democratic Party. Making it appear as though the shooters were influenced by online propaganda (or whatever) gives libs a moral escape hatch. Furthermore, libs already believe Russia is trying to ruin the United States with online propaganda and political control. At the moment, libs are hopelessly clinging to the idea that Russia has the president in their back pocket. Libs should be given a more appropriate avenue to vent their hatred towards hostile bad actors. Plant the idea that mass shootings are propaganda campaigns organized by foreign agents against the United States. Foreign agents are preying on the minds of our mentally-ill to demoralize, divide, and disarm the public.

This is a halfway house to the Great Awakening for normies. Furthermore, if normies reject the claim that foreign agents are using propaganda online to turn the mentally ill into mass murderers, it undermines most of the Russia election meddling and most of the collusion narrative. Win-win.
