Of course you "OWN" it, but you wont own in in the way a "Freeman" would consider it owned, but,
property taxes are called "direct" taxes and they are apportioned equally geographically, so, you are not paying based on some arbitrasry number like your income, but rather based on blanked assessors survays.
And why do you WANT to pay those property taxes? So that when your house catches on fire the Fire Department has enough tax revenue to drive their firetruck over to put your fire out.
Taxes are GOOD when they pay for essential services… police, fire library, parks etc…. all of which work to create infrastructure that increases your property value.
Wrong, the government created a lending scenario via Fanniemae and FreddieMac whereby the criteria for lending was lowered to you only needing a pulse to get a home loan.
Then, those home loans we're packaged in tranches where the c level debt was stuffed in with a and b level debt and so when those borrowers started to default it caused the crash.
GREED caused the crash.
Now you know.
