Iranian officials confess to regime’s role in bombings and terrors

Jan. 27, 2019 - A debate between former Iranian officials from rivaling factions has been surfacing damning realities about the crimes committed by the mullahs’ regime.

In a public discussion broadcasted by state-run media, Mostafa Tajzadeh, former political deputy of the interior minister during the presidency of Mohammad Khatami, and former MP Alierza Zakani, discussed different matters of state and the history of the Iranian regime.

During the debate, Tazjadeh, who is tied to the so-called “reformist” camp, challenged Zakani, a renowned “principalist,” the faction that is close to Iranian regime supreme leader Ali Khamenei, on two issues that have haunted the regime for decades.

“Regarding the chain murders, Mr. Zakani, who has to be exposed? Who was opposed to keeping the issue silent and solving the issue in another way? They suggested to Mr. Khatami to carry out a scheme just like in Mashhad, find two [MEK members] and say they did it. They wanted to extract confessions in ways that they know, and we would execute them,” Tajzadeh said.

Real cost of Afghanistan and Iraq wars may be $6 trillion

Real cost of Afghanistan and Iraq wars may be $6 trillion

Real cost of Afghanistan and Iraq Wars may be $6 trillion

DVIDS

by Stavros Atlamazoglou · 5 hours ago

It’s common knowledge the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq have cost the American taxpayer an exorbitant amount of money. The U.S. government’s lack of transparency to determine the true expense fuels wild speculations.

So far, estimates vary between $1 and $2 trillion. Since there are so many different agencies and departments involved makes it even harder to pinpoint an accurate number. However, a recent study by the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) reveals these estimations might be excessively conservative, and the true cost might amount to almost $6 trillion.

The CSIS report examines the FY2001-FY2019 time frame and all military and civilian funds allocated to fight or support the Afghanistan and Iraq war efforts. Report authors credibly present costs of up to $2.1 trillion–but this amount doesn’t include numerous programs and projects. The authors project actual costs of $5.9 trillion, and predict by the end of FY2023, the outlay will reach $6.7 trillion.

Special Air Service launches revenge raid against ISIS

Earlier this week, the Special Air Service (SAS) mounted a raid against an Islamic State (ISIS) fortified position near the village of al-Shaafa in eastern Syria. According to the scant available information—the British Ministry of Defense (MoD) declines to comment on any inquiries about the United Kingdom Special Forces (UKSF)—the SAS assault force was comprised of around 30 operators, to include assaulters and snipers. Catching the jihadis completely unawares, the SAS raiding force managed to kill approximately 20 ISIS fighters as they attempted to flee the battlefield in vehicles.

The operation was a retaliatory strike for the serious wounding of two SAS operators by ISIS mortar strikes earlier in January. Although in critical condition, the two British commandos are expected to survive. The SAS operators were supporting the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), which are predominantly comprised of Kurdish fighters, as they attacked close to the towns of Ash-Sha’Fah and Hajin.

Subject to the relentless pounding of coalition airstrikes and SDF attacks, ISIS’ hold in eastern Syria has shrunk to only a few small enclaves. On Wednesday, January 23, the SDF—supported by coalition special operations forces (SOF)—captured the village of Baghouz, one of the last ISIS strongholds in the area.

“Search operations are continuing in Baghouz to find any ISIS militants who are still hiding,” said Rami Abdel Rahman, the head of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, to the Agence France-Presse (AFP). “The SDF will now have to push on into the farmland around Baghouz.”

Around 500 ISIS fighters, however, managed to escape.

Trump is right ,, why are people worried the wall is coming

Trump’s list: 289 accomplishments in just 20 months, ‘relentless’ promise-keeping

The Trump administration’s often overlooked list of achievements has surpassed those of former President Ronald Reagan at this time and more than doubled since the last tally of accomplishments after his first year in office, giving President Trump a solid platform to run for re-election on.

As Trump nears the two-year mark of his historic election and conducts political rallies around the country, during which he talks up his wins in hopes it will energize Republican voters, the administration has counted up 289 accomplishments in 18 categories, capped by the confirmation of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court.

They include 173 major wins, such as adding more than 4 million jobs, and another 116 smaller victories, some with outsize importance, such as the 83 percent one-year increase in arrests of MS-13 gang members.

“Trump’s successes in reducing the cost of taxes and regulations, rebuilding our military, avoiding wars of choice and changing the courts rival those of all previous Republican presidents,” said Grover Norquist, president of Americans for Tax Reform.

Why Is Yemen Ignored When Syria Dominates The Headlines?

The reason Yemen isn’t getting the attention it deserves is because at least with Syria there was a constant propaganda offensive of lies against the government, which produced an equally strong counter-narrative that got tougher to beat over time.

By contrast with Yemen there is no “constant propaganda offensive” against the National Salvation Government (i.e. “the Houthis”) rather there’s mostly silence, interrupted by moments of humanitarian concern, speaking of which, please donate what you can to wfaid.org.
