It's always been there. The demographics of the invasion are just now making it news.
I received an official, private tour of several government buildings in Mexico City in 1973. In several of the buildings were hung copies of the map shown.
My guide was very forthright about their reclaiming all of the territory on the map which was "stolen" from them by the U.S. He wasn't kidding a single bit.
