It's a way for them to buffer any HiRes video of anything they don't want in the public domain. If they automagically posted your HiRes stuff and it contained something that could identify something BECAUSE of the resolution, they review it…me thinks.
My uncle had big ears growing up and as an adult got them "pinned", which made them closer to his head. The overall shape remained relatively the same, but they definitely "looked" like different ears when comparing photos.
