It's not just that "we" are the majority at present, and it requires voting gimmicks to make it look like we are outnumbered.

It is also that most people are similar to us. Even some of the most unhinged leftists are acting that way because they have been led to believe certain things about the world to be true.

Consider, if you thought most men were horrible barbarians and stereotypes of them on television to be accurate, then you would probably be easier to convince that women needed abortion to keep men from using pregnancy to oppress vulnerable women.

If you believed that the climate was changing in some horrible direction because of people and that the western way of life was the cause of many species going extinct, you might be out there, blocking a coal barge with green peace, or something.

People don't do what they do because they believe it to be evil. They do what they do because they believe it will bring about good, or that it has become necessary to prevent an unacceptable evil.

The problem is… Who has the truth? Who is acting on the most accurate and complete/relevant vision of reality? That is how we are divided and that is how evil governs the wars between good, honest people who've been deceived into seeing each other as enemies.
