So I might be missing something really obvious here, but I can't think of why criminal investigation details are kept hidden. Given that the "Justice System" in this country is merely an extension of the power the people hold to exile members unfit for society, why are details of investigations or court proceedings kept secret at all? Shouldn't they be made public to the people in the name of transparency? The only reason I can come up with is that our "betters" want to keep us in the dark. EX: all of the WAY over-redacted documents the government has been releasing.
