Video interviews of elderly people in 1929. Two notes of interest in the 14 mins. A NY theater manager who started as a young guy in the newspaper biz tells how back in the day (estimate 1880) they could get photos of an event in the paper 2 days after the event…..but that now (1929) they have the pictures ready a day BEFORE the event. Fake news even then, yes sir.

In addition, the first guy interviewed was a Reb soldier during the Civil War. He describes the battle of Cole Camp in Missouri, in 1861, right at the beginning of the war. Of note in this regard is that he says they (Rebs) killed 250 "Dutch" during the battle with a loss of 7 of their own men. Those were actually I think German soldiers, mostly new immigrants. I tell you this to reinforce how unreliable Wikipedia is in their information. Their piece claims that 35 Union men were killed with some captured. The guy who was actually there as a 16 or 17 year old soldier said they killed 250, with no prisoners taken. I believe him.
