Was it ever confirmed that she was a direct descendent of Hitler?

Speaking of which, what exactly was the deal with Hitler? I've read that the Warburgs (in cahoots with Rothschild) basically funded the creation of the Nazi party at a time when Weimar Germany was struggling economically, allowing for the party's rise. Was he a puppet the whole time? Did he really have any idea what was going on?
