reminds me of…a scene from "Have His Carcass", when
one of the murder conspirators guilds the alibi lilly by claiming
his thoughts of suicide were brought on by the sound of the waves lapping at the sea wall (at midnight) and the waves "spoke" to him to end it all just chuck it, give it all up: except at midnight on that date the tide was at the extreme ebb.
