Psychologically speaking, Flat Earth, should not engender the hatred that it does. Primarily, as noted previously, it won't change the shape of the planet, unless the shape is psychological in nature.

One would expect, all things being equal, that the scientists of the world would encourage others to speak about Flat Earth until they were blue in the face. This not only promotes open and honest discussions, but education as well.

The assumption that everyone "should" have the same set and subset of knowledge and beliefs is tantamount to… well, group think. And beyond that's it's a failed assumption, based on nothing but a desire for control.

We, as Anons, all understand, respect, and have a healthy fear of group think. As a collective that is… I jest, of course, but the point remains, showing people the error in their thinking, based on the "science" is much more impactful to the student, than ridicule, insults, and admonishments.

So, why the terror in discussion the shape of the earth? Especially, if the "truth" of the earth's shape was in fact discovered thousands of years ago, and has since been reestablished as fact through empirical research. Why the fear?

Why the need for control?

For some reason flat earth scares people. It scares the establishment for certain, as their reactions to squash discussions are evident by the persistent excuses to silence.

Anons, even here, like myself, have noticed a distinct pushback, with the instances resulting in name-calling and… well, ridicule. Not that that matters.

However, if the truth of the shape of the planet is as solid as the ground we're standing on, no amount of discussion could deter that reality.

Here, are two examples of the posturing that Flat Earther's are a serious threat and a bane that must be stopped at all costs… Also, they're the exact same article taken from two different sites. That's how much the distributors of truth cared about their research and the truth.

Sure, it could be said, "once the shape of the earth is proven… why reresearch it?" And sure, one could take that stance. But that is that really how science works?

How many discussions are occurring right now about the bad call… you know the one involving the Saints and the Patriots? (The fact you even catch my meaning further illustrates my point) No one cares about those topics being talked about with passion and conviction, right? Why? IMHO it's because those subjects don't matter. As one would expect a discussion of the shape of the earth, seeing as how none can change it, to carry the same weight.

Listen closely to these methods of persuasion… are they logical fallacies? Or sound science.

"It's not okay to think that the Earth is Flat…"

Q makes a significant point when demonstrating that there is a substantial amount of money spent on trying to prove he is a larp.

Similarly, Flat Earth is another arena where hundreds of thousands, if not millions, are spent trying to persuade viewers of the idiocy of contemplating the shape of the planet, when other smarter, more authoritative minds have done it for you already.

Not to be outdone, Buzzfeed, everyone's favorite bastion of Truth, Justice, and the American way, threw their hats in the ring to clarify for the simpletons, what shape the earth truly is.

If Buzzfeed is fake news, and they posit "This is how people become flat-eathers - and why they stick with their beliefs, despite the intense ridicule it brings" then it must be truth, right?

*ridicule away now… free thinkers…

All for a larp?
