Possible Keystone Connection Near Mt. Rushmore With Uranium

The Black Hill Mountains were part of the Lakota Reservation when a treaty was signed in 1868. The US thought is was useless land and gave it up. In 1876 the US decided they wanted the land once they found there was a large amount of gold that could be mined. That is when the battle of Little Bighorn took place. The Lakota’s still to this day have not taken money for the land but it was taken by the government when they broke the treaty.

Since they have taken over the area it has been mined for many minerals including gold and limestone. One thing that most don’t know about is that the area has a large amount of Uranium as well. Areas in the Black Hills have been mined for the uranium and then left abandoned with radioactive uranium dust blowing and runoff contaminating water supplies. In some areas they have even said radioactive levels are higher than Fukashima and Chaynobile.

Now here is where the Keystone part comes in. The town next to Mt. Rushmore is Keystone, SD. It wasn’t very long ago that the news was pretty focused on this area due to the fact that the Keystone XL Pipeline was coming through the western side of South Dakota. If you recall the protesters that were upset about it. Now think back to when this happened and what transpired in another area with uranium and protesters. In 2015 was when the Keystone XL was to be started. In 2014 was when the Bundy Standoff took place. At that time the Uranium One sales would have already been taken place and the with the legal battle that took place it could have thrown a wrench in there mining process. With the need to full fill their contracts they needed another place to get the Uranium and the Keystone XL could give them perfect cover to bring in the large equipment without questions.
