66 year old here, retired.

Had some college but no degree.

Earned over $2.5M in my lifetime.

My oldest son got a degree. He works two jobs making ends meet, and keeps putting off marriage because he can't afford. He still has student loans to pay and it will be years before he's out of the hole.

In the "old days," if you worked you ass off and put off things (avoid instant gratification), you could slowly do well over time. Very well. That's what I did.

Things are different now.

My son is smart, works as hard as I did in my day, but he can't seem to break out yet. I would have a hard time starting out today myself.

I think Trump says it best on the campaign trail: "The system is rigged." Hopefully this will change.
