Oops! Iran Announces Transfer of Uranium Yellowcake – Day After DNI Director Dan Coats Refutes Trump, Insists Iran Is Not Pursuing Nukes

On Tuesday Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats refuted President Trump and insisted the Iranian regime was not seeking nuclear arms.

Coats testified before the Senate Intelligence Committee and defended the Iranian regime and Obama administration talking points.

America’s top intelligence official on Tuesday publicly broke with President Donald Trump on several critical foreign policy fronts, saying North Korea is not likely to give up its nuclear weapons, Iran is not yet seeking a nuclear weapon and the Islamic State terrorist group remains a forceful presence in Iraq and Syria.

The remarks by Dan Coats, the U.S. director of national intelligence, underscored how out of step Trump’s pronouncements on major national security issues often are with the rest of the government he leads, including intelligence agencies that he has long scorned.

On Wednesday Iran announced the second consignment of yellowcake uranium to its conversion facility in Isfahan province.

Iran on Wednesday dispatched the second cargo of yellowcake produced in Ardakan plant in the Central parts of the country to the Uranium Conversion Facility (UCF) in Isfahan province.

Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Ali Akbar Salehi issued an order to transfer the yellowcake produced in the Ardakan factory, located in the Central province of Yazd, to the UCF in Isfahan.

Iran had on April 20, transferred the first batch of yellowcake (10 tons) to the UCF to mark the country’s National Day of Nuclear Technology. The second cargo which weighs 30 tons was dispatched on Wednesday.

Before issuing an order to send the new consignment, Salehi said that Iran is prepared to increase its production of yellowcake to over 300 tons annually in the next 5 to 6 years.

Yellowcake is a type of uranium concentrate powder obtained from leach solutions, in an intermediate step in the processing of uranium ores. It is a step in the processing of uranium after it has been mined but before fuel fabrication or uranium enrichment.

Office of Inspector General Announces Findings of Misconduct by Three FBI Officials

The Office of Inspector General announced this week that it found misconduct by “two current senior FBI officials” and “one retired FBI official.”

The FBI officials were not named in the report.

“The Department of Justice (DOJ) Office of the Inspector General (OIG) initiated this investigation upon the receipt of information from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) concerning multiple allegations involving an FBI contractor and three FBI officials,” the investigative summary said.

“The OIG found that as a result of conduct by two current senior FBI officials, and one retired FBI official, the FBI contractor engaged in certain inherent governmental activities in contravention of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR). Additionally, the OIG found that these three FBI officials did not adhere to Office of Management and Budget policy while managing the contractor. Further, the OIG found that the FBI contractor failed to adhere to personal conflict of interest rules under the FAR.”

The report was then provided to the FBI for appropriate action.

American citizens have completely lost trust in the FBI, the once respected premiere law enforcement agency. The agency’s reputation is in tatters because of James Comey’s corrupt directorship and the current Director, Christopher Wray has done nothing to restore confidence in the FBI.

Federal Judge Blasts "Criminal" PG&E's "Clear-Cut Pattern Of Starting Fires"

After rallying in the 'good' news that the company has entered Chapter 11, PG&E's stock is lower today, not helped by a federal judge's comments slamming the triple-bankrupt utility for serially starting fires.

Following a series of massive fires along its 125,000 miles of power lines over the last two years, Bloomberg reports that U.S. District Court Judge William Alsup - who is overseeing PG&E’s probation for safety violations that led to felony convictions for the 2010 explosion of one of its gas pipelines, which killed eight people - didn’t back down from his criticism of the utility despite being told he had overreached.

“Usually a criminal on probation is forthcoming and admits what they need to admit. You haven’t admitted much,” Alsup told lawyers for the company at a hearing Wednesday in federal court in San Francisco.

“There’s a clear-cut pattern here: that PG&E is starting these fires.”

Among other suggestions, the judge proposed subjecting the company to criminal sanctions if it failed to shut off electric supply to portions of the grid on extremely windy days, trim tree branches and inspect and repair thousands of miles of power lines.

8 civilians killed as US-led jets bombard Syria’s Dayr al-Zawr

At least eight civilians have lost their lives and nearly a dozen others sustained injuries when the US-led coalition purportedly fighting the Daesh Takfiri terrorist group conducted a series of airstrikes in Syria’s embattled eastern province of Dayr al-Zawr.

Local sources told Syria’s official news agency SANA that the aerial attacks hit al-Baghuz town in the Abu Kamal district of the province on Wednesday afternoon, leaving three women and five children dead and several others injured.

The sources noted that the death toll is expected to rise as some people have been critically wounded in the airstrikes.

The US-led coalition has been conducting airstrikes and operations against what are said to be Daesh targets inside Syria since September 2014 without any authorization from the Damascus government or a UN mandate.

Trump rips into US intel's Iran report, calling spies ‘wrong’ & ‘naive’

President Trump has called US intelligence agencies “naive” and “wrong” on Iran, after their annual ‘threat assessment’ contradicted his hawkish stance by downplaying Tehran’s nuclear threat.

“The Intelligence people seem to be extremely passive and naive when it comes to the dangers of Iran,” Trump tweeted on Wednesday. “They are wrong!”

“They are testing Rockets (last week) and more, and are coming very close to the edge,” he continued. “There economy is now crashing, which is the only thing holding them back. Be careful of Iran. Perhaps Intelligence should go back to school!”

Trump’s aggressive sanctions against Iran have squeezed the Islamic Republic’s economy, but the president’s warnings about the “dangers of Iran” are not shared by the US’ intelligence agencies.

Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats presented the agencies’ yearly ‘Worldwide Threat Assessment’ to the Senate Intelligence Committee on Tuesday. In it, the spy chief warned of cyber threats from Russia and China, and nuclear threats from North Korea, but dismissed the danger of a nuclear Iran.

“We do not believe Iran is currently undertaking activities we judge necessary to produce a nuclear device,” Coats told the committee. He added that all nuclear research undertaken by Tehran has thus far remained within the parameters of the 2015 Iran Deal, which Trump withdrew from last May.

In releasing the report, the US’ top intelligence official contradicts the Trump administration’s rhetoric on Iran for the last two years. In 2017, Trump warned of the “very real threat of Iran’s nuclear breakout,” and threatened Iranian President Hassan Rouhani with “consequences the likes of which few throughout history have ever suffered before” last year.

Trump’s own State Department, as well as the International Atomic Agency, have both certified Iran’s compliance with the 2015 deal.

The Kremlin has called reports of 20 tons of Venezuelan gold heading to Russia fake news.

Presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov advised the public against listening to rumors.

On Wednesday, a member of the Venezuelan opposition and former banker at the country’s central bank, Jose Guerra, claimed he has information of the planned shipment of tons of gold bars, amounting to 20 percent of the bank’s holdings. The lawmaker said that a Russian jet, which arrived from Moscow, was ready to transport the cargo.

The statement was then reported by Bloomberg, and then by other Western media. The rumors were fueled by other reports, claiming that a mystery Boeing 777, which can carry some 400 passengers and belonging to Russia's Nordwind Airlines, was spotted at the local airport after flying direct from Moscow.

Facebook used an app to pay people as young as 13 years old to allow the company to monitor all their internet activity.

What's the story?

According to the website TechCrunch, Facebook used an iPhone and Android app called "Facebook Research" to gather data. This app would pay users, who ranged in age from 13 to 35, up to $20 a month, and in return it would send to Facebook information about that user's web activity. This has been going on since 2016.

The app would normally be in violation of Apple's own privacy policy for apps. However, according to The Guardian, Facebook circumvented these rules by asking users to download an "enterprise developer certificate." This allowed Facebook to bypass the App store by treating the users as app developers testing an unfinished app. Apple limits the use of these developer apps to employees of the app creator, but Facebook reportedly violated this policy. Apple has since (at least temporarily) revoked Facebook's ability to use these developer apps on its iPhones at all.

When questioned about this, Facebook admitted to TechCrunch that these allegations were accurate. After that story broke, Facebook said it would shut down the Apple version of the app. For its part, Apple said that the app had been blocked before Facebook said that it had pulled it.

Despite discontinuing the app, Facebook has defended the app. In a statement to CNBC, the company said:

President Nicolas Maduro has rejected an ultimatum issued by Europe which called for new elections in Venezuela within 8 days, saying instead that the next presidential elections will be held in 2025.

Germany, France and Spain said that they would recognize the self-proclaimed president of Venezuela unless new elections are held – but Maduro has stressed that Europe has no right to make such demands, telling RIA Novosti that the next elections will take place in 2025.

In an earlier interview with CNN Turk, Maduro slammed the European demand as “complete insolence.”

“They should withdraw this ultimatum. No one can give us an ultimatum,” Maduro said. “Venezuela is not tied to Europe. This is complete insolence.”

In a statement, French President Emmanuel Macron said that the Venezuelan people “must be able to freely decide their future. Without elections announced in 8 days, we could recognize [Guaido] as ‘interim president’ of Venezuela to launch this political process.” Nearly identical messages were released by Germany and Spain.

Juan Guaido proclaimed himself “interim president” of Venezuela last week, swiftly receiving strong support from Washington and its allies.

Guaido has been barred from leaving the country until an investigation into “serious crimes that threaten the constitutional order" is completed.

Democratic VA Governor Endorses Murder Of Born-Alive Infants

On Wednesday, in a shocking revelation about the nature of the pro-abortion Democratic Party, Virginia Governor Ralph Northam, a supposed moderate, endorsed the notion that a woman should be able to let an infant, born alive, die on the table if she decided she did not want the child.

Appearing on WTOP’s Ask The Governor, Northam was asked whether he supported a Virginia legislator’s statement that Virginia Democrats’ proposed legislation would permit abortion for a woman in labor. He stated:

This is why decisions such as this should be made by providers, physicians, and the mothers and fathers that are involved. When we talk about third-trimester abortions, these are done with the consent of the mother, with the consent of physicians, more than one physician by the way, and it’s done in cases where there may be severe deformities, there may be a fetus which is non-viable. So in this particular example, if the mother is in labor, I can tell you exactly what would happen, the infant would be delivered, the infant would be kept comfortable, the infant would be resuscitated if this is what the mother and the family desired, and then a discussion would ensue between the physician and the mother.

This is pure infanticide. It's also an argument for eugenic murder (see his comments about deformities). Northam is specifically talking about delivering an infant alive and then asking the mother whether the infant should live or not. This is not an argument about the morning-after pill. It’s not an argument over whether a fetus feels pain. This is a statement that a fully-formed infant, born alive, ought to be murdered if the mother says the infant ought to be murdered.

This is pure evil.

And yet this is the position of Democrats across the country. Northam was speaking about a bill proposed by Virginia House member Kathy Tran, which would legalize abortion up to birth. Tran had explained just yesterday that a woman should be able to opt for abortion as she is dilating for birth.

President Trump Makes First Phone Call To Venezuela’s Juan Guaidó

President Donald Trump made his first known phone call to Venezuela’s Juan Guaidó on Wednesday and reinforced his support for the opposition against dictatorial President Nicolás Maduro.

Trump recognized opposition leader Guaidó as the legitimate president of Venezuela last week after Maduro won re-election in a contentious nationwide vote. The U.S. government cited the election results as illegitimate because the Maduro regime has been known to jail and torture political opposition and protesters.

White House press secretary Sarah Sanders said during a press briefing Monday that Vice President Mike Pence had spoken with Guaidó on the phone on several occasions to offer support, but did not reveal if the president had spoken to him.

Sanders released a statement Wednesday indicating that the president had a phone call with Guaidó — potentially for the first time.

According to a readout of the call, Trump reiterated his support for the Venezuelan opposition and congratulated him on his assumption of the country’s presidency.

He is Nicolas Maduro Moros, who is Commander-in-Chief of the Bolivarian Armed Forces," Padrino Lopez said urging the service members to defend Maduro in line with their oath.

Juan Guaido, Venezuelan opposition leader and parliament speaker, whose appointment to that position had been cancelled by the country’s Supreme Court, declared himself interim president at a rally in the country’s capital of Caracas on January 23. Several countries, including the United States, Lima Group members (excluding Mexico), Australia, Albania, Georgia and Israel, as well as the Organization of American States, recognized him as president. Venezuela's incumbent President Nicolas Maduro blasted these actions as an attempted coup and said he was cutting diplomatic ties with the United States.

Meanwhile, Spain, France, Germany, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands said that they would recognize Guaido as Venezuela’s interim president unless Maduro called elections by February 3.

In contrast, Russia, Belarus, Bolivia, Iran, Cuba, Nicaragua, El Salvador and Turkey voiced support for Maduro, while China called for resolving all differences peacefully and warned against foreign interference. The United Nations secretary general, in turn, called for dialogue to resolve the crisis.

US National Intelligence Director Daniel Coats earlier told the Senate Intelligence Committee that "China and Russia pose the greatest espionage and cyber-attack threats." According to him, the two countries "seek to expand their global influence, they are eroding once well-established security norms and increasing the risk of regional conflicts, particularly in the Middle East and East Asia." According to the US, China is allegedly the biggest threat for global network security.
