Docfag here.

There was a bread a ways back that discussed the relationship between Adrenochrome and skin pigmentation. I can’t seem to find it now otherwise I would love to reference it as it was good work. The proposed theory was given the link between Adrenochrome and melanin, this might explain why trafficking of blacks out of Haiti and other 3rd world countries was so prominent. The thought was, do dark skinned individuals have more adrenochrome?

I did some digging and once again, A. Hoffer and H. Osmond came up in the search. Specifically, their book Hallucinogens https://play.google.com/books/reader?id=nBMlBQAAQBAJ has an entire chapter on Adrenochrome. It’s interesting to note that Hoffer and Osmond coined the term “hallucinogen”.

The pair support the Adrenochrome Schizophrenia Hypothesis which states schizophrenia is the result of excess Adrenochrome. Recall these studies and theories were done in the 1950’s and to date this has not been proven, but the evidence is mounting. The most recent work I could find is here,

https://link.springer.com/article/10.1080%2F10298420290015827

“the recent evidence is reviewed that the gene for the enzyme glutathione S-transferase is defective in schizophrenia. This enzyme detoxifies adrenochrome.”

This is important because Hoffer et al use this assumption to evaluate the effects of adrenochrome on the human body using Schizophrenics.

I have included screen shots of some important findings.

Namely, Adrenocrome when injected into the dermis causes “tanning”.

Also attached are captures from the book discussing that if schizophrenia was indeed related to higher levels of Adrenochrome, and higher adrenochrome levels causes more pigmentation, then schizophrenics should have this characteristic. We do see that. Does it prove blacks have more Adrenochrome? No. But it’s interdasting.

Regarding hyperpigmentation of Addison’s disease. They did not know what caused this in the 1950’s. In the 1970’s they discovered the reason and it has nothing to do with Adrenochrome. Levels of Adrenocorticotropin Hormone (ACTH) are elevated in primary Addison’s (adrenal gland is broken).

ACTH is cleaved to produce proopiomelanocortin which then stimulates Melanocyte Stimulating Hormone which causes Melanocytes to darken the skin.

So have we proven dark skinned people have more Adrenochrome? No, but the evidence seems to point to this. This is a study that could easily be undertaken in today's scientific community. Would be interesting to also look at Albinos.
