An interesting thought occurred to me today.

In order to re-open the government, Trump had to sign a bill, which was approved by both the House and Senate. So, Nancy has made it clear she has no intention of offering any legislation that has a wall, and Trump has stated that he will not sign any that does not. From an optics standpoint, Trump owned the first shutdown and was responsible for the 800,000 federal workers not getting paid. That was the media's focus, too.

Nancy made a big deal out of no negotiations during the shutdown, as well as no SOTU during shutdown. Yet she agreed to re-open the government anyway, knowing that she wasn't really going to negotiate. This essentially handed control back to Trump. Now he gets his wall either way, and Nancy owns the shutdown on the 15th. Plus, the SOTU is back on, and the media will be forced to address Buzzi's absence.

Why would she do this? Allowing this bill had not a single upside for her and the Dems… unless she really is acting a part now. More and more obvious every day, IMO.
