That'd be my guess. Or just actual negotiating, Trump positioning us according to America First. I do think the big war going on is nationalists v. globalists, and in that regard Putin & Trump are allies. But within the big war are still smaller competitions. U.S. and Russia are also the lead nations in the East v. West of non-globalist interests, re: how world powers will orient themselves as the swamp creatures are drained. America First v. Russia First will be a natural tension as Trump and Putin each try to position their own people to best advantage to prosper. Diplomats can still compete in good faith while not forgetting their larger common interests.
